I recently received an email from indygirls (was on their mail list). The email showed the email address of a number of others, I assume on their mail list too, and they no doubt have my email address.
I emailed indygirls to let them know this happens and politely asked for an explanation.
What I received in return was a rather snotty and arrogant reply telling me that AOL told them that this happens at times. The problem was fixed case closed.
First of all I do not know how this can be AOL’s fault as was indicated.
Second seems to me that an apology was in order.
I them replied that I thought a snotty and arrogant reply was not necessary, since I did politely ask for an explanation, and mentioned that I realize that it was not done intentionally nor was it done with malice.
And it was my opinion that an explanation and apology was in order.
I was then removed from the mail list.
Still no apology.
I have always respected indygirls and have always considered them one of the better agencies not just in this area but all over. I am now rethinking that.

If they removed you from their mailing list, you must not be a client of theirs.
Instead of a snotty , arrogant reply to my polite email letting them know of the mistake, I think you can agree a simple apology to all involved not just me would have been in order. NOT asking or suggesting anyone kiss my feet.

Happened to me a few years ago. That's why you need a hobby-only email address. I was on that indygirls chain you're talking about too. Didn't even barely notice because I have a hobby-only gmail set up.

Things happen.. If other gentleman did not make a big deal that have been here for 14 yrs plus due to an AOL error then why should you and why should I sit there and take your crapola? I mean truly now.
Indy Girls is fast, convenient, and reasonable when rates come into play. I got pissed off at the way you came off you wrote me the email as if I were to blame hence my response. You want an apology I will give it to you however it will not change the fact that I removed you from mailing list so that you would not send me another email again saying why it was my fault that this happened. I am truly pissed off at the way some of you come on here and think that I need to kiss your asses.
This is a business like any other. I am not your friend , I am a booker and I need you to call me , give me a client number, book your time, call me when you get to place on time and be done with it. This is a tight run ship and I am quite tired of all of you mistaking my way of being on the phone as rude. It is just the way that I am and I get many phone calls thru out the day for my girls and I do not have the time or energy to answer such stupid questions like What time is so and so available when schedule is updated as much as possible thru out the day
When you call and get efficient & speedy service. That is all nothing else. If you want gfe , reasonable rates and above all security then this is the place to be.
Some of you have providers call me for references I DO NOT GIVE THEM!!!! You know why cause I do not want to share your personal client confidentiality with anyone and how do I know it is not a significant other calling? BULLSHIT !!! So I steer clear of giving it to others.
I am safe but when I feel a client emails me to tell me "How could this happen"? then I am going to solve it so it does not happen to you again and you not email me like I am the GOD of computers or am CEO of AOL. I think you coming to rant on here is petty and dumb cause you know what you can either come here or choose not to come here as there are many agencies out there now and I just want to live with clients that know and understand my way.

Yes things happen, however, when most people are politely told that there is a mistake, they do not respond with a snotty and arrogant reply. Since my email did NOT blame you there was no need for that kind of reply. However since it did come from you, you should be professional enough to tak responsibility.
They usually thank the person for letting them know something happened, politely let them know what went wrong, and apologize ( the proper thing to do is to apologize without having to be told to do so).
Originally I did not and was not going to make a “big deal” out of it but your seemingly apathetic attitude toward the email address of others being sent out, no doubt unintentional, is very disturbing. You could have at least pretended to care. Also as I mentioned above this is not the first time this has happened.

Well by that statement there seems to be many who think you are rude, and if that is just the way you are then perhaps you need to change the way you are or get another job.
I suppose you do run a tight ship and the ship has a leak. Nothing that will sink the ship by any means, however you do need to fix the leak and clean up the mess.
As for being removed from your mail list (that reaction makes me ask if have something to hide) I’m still getting your daily email at my other hobby only email address.
BTW when is the Polish Princess going to be back, I’m looking forward to seeing her again?

I will state this again... when you saw my last response I did apologize yet you still have an axe to grind but this is going to be fixed from now on as I am revamping my site and no longer offer daily emails due to all of the hub bub you and a friend of your caused on this and another board. I am quite tired of all of this non sense and will just run my ship without this drama any longer coming from anyone .
I am not going to change for you or for anyone and my business runs tight so if this was a problem for you then I will not make the same mistake and have it happen numerous times and then be blamed for it again and again and again so hence no emails no problems. I believe it works well this way .
As for the Polish Princess sir I believe our business is done and we will no longer need to do business together I mean after all I am rude and do not have safety enough for you so why come here or for that matter use any of the services offered So I very well doubt you will be seeing her anytime soom.
