I've heard of all the lovely restaurants in Newark, NJ and would like to at least visit a couple before going home tomorrow. Not sure if I should stay at a downtown hotel or one near the airport? In most cities parking can be expensive and hard to find in downtown areas, but I think staying in the airport area while visiting Newark will put me out of the way from the fine dining.  

Thoughts?

Sorry this is late but maybe it helps for your next visit. Downtown Newark is not a place you want to stay.You are better off staying near the airport.As far as dining goes I assume you are speaking of the Spanish/ Portuguese restaurants downneck.There are plenty and they are good.Some have their own parking lots and they are not expensive.if you want any recommendations send me a PM.
