there is a woman in front of me whom I would guess is about 65 years old...a very kind and thoughtful woman...I had a large grocery order in my carriage and she just had a few items...so she turned to me and handed me a coupon for $10 off any order of $100 or more...then we laughed about of few things...like the cost of living and how much a gallon of milk costs etc...again she was very nice....the register next to us opened up...I gave her  agentle tap on the shoulder and told her to grab that spot...I backed up and she moved over to the open register...just as she went to get in the line this jackass goes right in front of her as she was thanking me...so said to him "what are you doing"....he said "if you're getting in line move your ass you old fucking hag"...now this guy was no bargain to look at...and obviously he has about as much class as school on saturday...he proceeded to tell whomever he was on his cell phone with that she smelled like rotten fish and had wrinkly skin like an elephant...this kind woman began to cry...she was speechless and she hung her head down...I wanted to start rifling my canned goods at him...but rather than cause a major scene and further humiliate this lovely woman...I said str8 to his ugly face some day this very moment in time will come back to you ten fold...then I looked at her and gave her a lil wink and a smile...now out into the freezing cold temps with my carriage full of yum yums and diet food I go...this woman followed me out...while putting the groceries into my gf's trunk she did what I did and lightly tapped me on the shoulder...I turned a lil startled...but then she gave me a hug...and she told me that she was thankful  that I stuck up for her...she then told me that she owns a day spa right here in my city...she told me to come down any time and I can get the works on the house...seeeeeee what comes around goes around...so please be kind and thoughtful to everyone you meet...it is soooooo simple...especially the elderly :-)

I am so sorry that you had to encounter someone so revoltingly *rude* as that man! It's amazing that you had the composure to answer him like you did - he would have gotten nothing more or less than a quick introduction to my boot if I heard him say that!

But I'm glad that you were able to turn it into a positive experience for yourself and that poor lady by standing up for her :)

If only there were less people in the world like him, and more people in the world like you!

Very special thing you did.  It is true about being repaid 10 fold whether is a bad deed or a good deed.  You did the good deed, now lets hope the asshole who cut in front gets cutoff on the road has an accident and the ambulance coming has four flats and two junkies on crack responding.

and his buddies to give him a good ole fashioned blanket party :-)

Hopefully the cashier triple-scanned his cheetos (or better yet, his cigs) while he complained on the phone about having to wait 90 extra seconds to check out!

I do too cause lord knows he was dumb enough not to pick up on it...unlike myself whom  while at the donut shop this morning ordered an xl coffee for myself, an egg and cheese sandwich with a large milk FOR MY 9 YR OLD...the girl (brand new) goes to the window register and rings it up...she came back and told me the total is $2.10...my little man looks at me and says "that's cheap"...I knew w/o doing the math that she made a big mistake...the coffee alone is $2.70 ( not DD lol)...she came back and I told her the total cannot be right...she had that dumbfounded look on her face...aaahhhh we all make mistakes...my son was pissed cause we could have left and been a lil richer lol...so I had to tell him about doing things the right way...then I explained to him about their food cost and monthly expenses and how this girl is new and it's only fair to do right by her...I JUST WANTED MY GD COFFEE  LMAO

Perfect example of parenting. Too bad so many people out there would either have taken advantage of the girl (teaching the child to do so also) or would not have explained to their child why they did the right thing.

I bought a cheap gym bag and the zipper broke. So I took it back to replace it with the same kind. Since I didn't have a receipt, the guy said he had to give me the $15 back in cash and then have me buy the replacement. So, ok, that's fair. But I was also buying a second one for my daughter, and didn't want to get in the regular line for that. So he gives me the $15, and then charges me $15 for BOTH bags. I tried to explain he wasn't doing it right and needed to charge me another $15 for the 2nd bag, but he just wasn't getting it. Finally, since there was a huge line, I just left with both bags. I felt guilty for a week even though I tried to explain. Then the zipper broke again. So I went to Target and bought a nicer bag.

Why anyone would be rude to anyone in that setting, let alone to an elderly lady is beyond me.  We should all take some time out of our day and give our seniors (except that grizzled mltnbob) some respect.

You've inspired me Erin.  I think I'm going to go sign up for meals on wheels again, I did that for nearly 8 years.

You've also reminded me of that old saying, what goes around comes around.  We should all take heed of that statement.
