I love it, there are new reviews showing up for providers in Maine almost daily, thanks guys!!!

I am up in Maine this week as well! Glad to hear that others have ventured here also

so hobbyists have a better sense of what kind of providers are available in the area to be seen. Have also found no 401 area code ads there in the past few weeks. Maybe they've gotten the hint that since hobbyists here in Maine are a small group & communicate well on TER & moved on or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

......wishful thinking maybe lol..... it'd help if guys told more providers about TER so they can be aware if they are reviewed or not.  Just like there are a lot of guys who don't know about TER or any other review sites many providers are in the same boat. Could help more of them be more aware of their performance etc. There's just something about know you're actively being talked about/critiqued.  

I didn't hear or know about TER until a hobbyist me I'd just gotten a review (my first)....i'd only been escorting 6wks/2months or so tops.

Great point about telling providers... though I usually get the deer in the headlight look when I mention it.  Generally, I try to ask a provider if they are ok with having a review, and in Maine have found many that say no initially, then I try to talk them into it for obvious reasons. Most get it at that point, but initial reaction is reviews? huh?  on me?

If you see someone and don't write a review, it does not help any of us that are trying to decide who to see or who not to see.  Always write a review!  Lets help each other out here.

Coercive reviews

I have a question to both hobbyists & providers in regards to reviews. How do we as a community self-enforce against a coercive hobbyist using a review to extort behavior from a provider that they would not ordinarily engage in & how should the community promote TER not only as a hobbyist resource but a provider resource as well to minimize and/or prevent that from happening?

Not saying the issue you bring up isn't valid or unworthy of discussion, but it would seem to be misplaced.  Unless you are saying the Maine reviews referred to here are tainted, your post would probably be better placed as a separate thread, possibly on the main board where it would receive wider exposure and commentary.
