My webmistress has suggested I change my current website being it has flash and she suggested it might be difficult for some to view on certain iphones etc. I have always thought my site was unique and I love it as it is but I was curious, perhaps she is correcting in her suggestions. Any thoughts either way?

Your website is very memorable with the simulated book but at the same time it is not necessarily practical. For the user who likes to slowly unfold the story of you, it is great. For the user who wants key information about you (pictures, rates, likes, schedule, etc.) it can be frustrating that they have view every page. Being more mobile/tablet friendly as you point out is another factor. If you could design the website that gives the visitor the option of a flash story book or a more typical website, you could service both types of website visitors.

To manage having two websites, it is possible to detect the browser being used and automatically redirect to a site optimized for it.  You could keep the fancy flash one for people on an laptop or desktop, and redirect to the mobile version if it detects a smartphone or iPod or something like that.

Also, look into HTML5.  It's probably not ready to replace Flash entirely, but it is the most competitive alternative at the moment.  And, support is built into pretty much all current browsers.  Even older, pre HTML5 browsers will be able to make sense of most of it, though HTML5 specific features obviously won't work properly or at all.  I don't know enough about it to say if your site could be viably converted, but it's probably worth some investigation of the idea.

Flash is nice but I can't see on my iPhone so your web mistress has a good point.
