I've been wondering about this, so thought I'd check and see what the general consensus might be. Would LE use a local area code, or could they use a different one and it be 'legal' for them to catch people in this hobby still?
I would guess they would use any area code they would like to throw you off. Its so easy to get a phone with whatever area code you would like. my .02 cents
Make no mistake, LE is allowed to lie and or mislead. I always laugh when I read that someone asks "are you LE?" I can't beleive people still think they have to say yes.
