In Chicago , hotel rates go up on Monday and down from Thursday through Sunday . They do this because of conferences / meetings for corporate people that are held.
When I traveled it was not the same in areas such as Iowa , and some suburb areas in California. Guess I will just have to call the hotels and ask. Kinda thought I'd learn here but oh well... lol
It depends on the city and the flow of customers they get. Cities of reasonable size that see a regular influx of business customers, most hotels will do this. Smaller towns, or suburban areas outside of major metros sometimes don't. It's partially because they're trying to lure in those business travellers with a better deal than they'd get in town.
