Hello all,
I am curious about provider and hobbyist perceptions/expectations around appointments made very late in the game. I have had a couple of experiences recently of potential clients contacting me and wanting me to meet them a few hours later in locations not very close-by, and then when I say that I either already have plans or can't check references in such a short time, they are never heard from again. It seems odd to me that someone would expect to schedule with a high-end provider so last-minute. So,

Hobbyists: What are your expectations about lead time to schedule? Does it seem extraneous to you for a provider to require scheduling at least 24 hours in advance?

Providers: How do you deal with last-minute requests, including the feasibility of checking references in a short period of time? Do you, like me, find it annoying for people to expect such "instant gratification," or do you think it just goes with the territory?

I only find unreasonably last minute requests annoying if they expect a relatively dolled up look (but not overdone) just like my pics in 30mins or less ... even less time it takes to deliver a pizza. I put emphasis on them making ample time for screening if we've never met before and a put a minimum amount of time needed in most of my ads which actually deters a lot of "right now" guys. References are just a tip of my screening iceberg. I give guys the buttload of options I accept while also letting them know basically how fast they get an appt is in their hands really because the more info they can provide the higher (and quicker) the chance we'll be meeting. If the only provide references for example well I let them know if they're not aware that some ladies are quicker than others in returning ref checks and it's a good idea for them to contact those ladies as a heads up someone will be contacting them (to hopefully get them to respond quicker). Usually they are happy to wait it out or ask for my other screening alternatives. I've had a few ladies reply back within 30 mins to ref checks but that's pretty rare...most take 2hrs or much more.  

I don't see too many ads on here saying they'll see anyone in 1hr or less (or even 30mins or less) ... that's more often than not something seen on BP (for example). Pre-screening is also smart and encouraged for the last minute guy. Imo...because if he's already screened there's a way higher chance I can probably see him within a short notice of 1hr-90mins (if that start time matches my availability) of his request. All this being said lol I highly prefer dates made at least a day ahead

There are so many different takes on making dates. It depends on what the provider's 'biz model' and preference is around meeting gentlemen. If you travel, there is a higher need/desire to have pre-set and confirmed dates. If you are staying in the same area for the most part and have some nice local gents you have known, stopping by with a short notice, short notice can work.  
I fall into the second model. I am very fortunate that I can arrange my 'other' work to allow a fairly set schedule of when I can have a friend drop in. Just don't expect all fancy and dressed to the hilt 'cause that takes time! But a good rewarding casual encounter is a fun mini-vacation for me, as well.  
The caveat is in the verification. As Mocha said, it takes time to screen. I want to provide the best experience. When I am rushed to *screen on short notice - I then have to 'reboot' my brain and body into my desirous horny me!  
In any situation, you would want preparation time for a big meeting or presentation, after all! Know your audience, the material, and have an idea of how you will be presenting yourself.
So, I prefer not to see someone new without a reasonable lead time.

Herein lies the issue, from a hobbyists perspective.  Let's say, for the sake of argument, you are not a single man.  Arranging opportunities can be difficult, but not impossible - it can be done ahead of time, but sometimes the though of having to wait three weeks can get  . . . frustrating.  But then sometimes, a totally unexpected window of opportunity opens that day.  Fortune smiles upon you.  You have a window of time, you have the desire, you have the means.  Now all you need is to find someone to properly enjoy the time with.

This is where someone has to be very careful and READ a Provider's website, assuming she has one.  If they ask for references or a p411 handle (which admittedly makes the screening process about a 1/10th as long as it could be) and you don't have a P411 handle, you're pretty much SOL because the chances of your references answering in a timely fashion for YOU, the hobbyist, are pretty damn slim.  If they say they prefer a certain amount of advance time, RESPECT IT - If a lady wishes at least five or six or 24 hours notice and I can't make that work, I'm not going to ask.  I don't consider it extraneous at all for a provider to ask for whatever time she requires to make an appointment.  It's your business, YOU run it how YOU see fit, and if I cannot make things work according to your schedule, then that is my problem, not yours.  

So for me, it's often that case of the stars have aligned, I have the time means and money . . . and a provider who is worth seeing is simply not available because of the short notice.  I run into it time and again.  It happens, it's understandable.  And I'm not about to go slumming, because no matter what my mood, I have finally trained myself that the big head is ALWAYS in charge

This is what I do. If I know I might be able to play next week I see who might be in. Because of my job and marital status I don't know if I can play until that day. So what I do is I get preverified by 2 providers. I have my primary and my back up. Then if I go into work and see I can get away I call my primary provider and see if she can see me within the next couple hours. If not I move on to the backup.And if she can't I call one of the agencies. I don't want to make an appointment because if something happens and I can't make it then I have to cancel and that's not good for her of my reputation. There's a lot of times that I don't get to see the person I want to but I know that eventually I will see her.

If I find a local that interests me I send an email (pm) of introduction, as I did several weeks ago with you, which includes my DC, P411, & TER info.  I didn't plan a meeting, just a "here I am and here's my info" in case I find the time/funds.  In your case my problem was outcall only.  Sometimes the provider checks my DC & P411 info, other times not, but at least the info is out there and she know I'm interested.  I think a few pm's back and forth well ahead of time helps both parties establish a little about each other.  

I'm hoping this may make a short notice meeting easier.

I would like to air this topic on the providers only board, but don't yet have access because I've only 2 reviews so far. But in the meanwhile, since you gents are so keen for me to settle down in a safe incall spot...

Have you gleaned any useful tips on the subject from the incall providers you've seen? It's a bit overwhelming at the moment. Any useful thoughts? Providers who might be interested in a shared incall space?

I know several girls that travel with another escort and share the room.  They share the cost and keep each other company.  When one needs the room the other can go to lunch, or go shopping, or for a walk...or just standby in case there is any question of risk with a new guy.  Neither wants to be full volume and/or does not have a full dance card.  It's a win-win situation.
