Yes...this is something that has been discussed a great deal recently. Not only on this board but on others as well. Many others.

The bottom line is that no one really knows how reviews are handled, and by whom. There's a lot of speculation and conjecture, but that never leads to much in any situation.
You can be assured that mods have nothing to do with the review process. We police the boards, and reviews are a completely different "department" as it were.

Yes...the review process can be time consuming and could be improved. That can be said about many things. But the system is what it is for now, and it's best to know how to deal with it instead of raging against it.
If you've had a review denied...don't take it personally or fly off the handle. Simply send a message and ask why. 99 times out of 100 you'll get a response and reason. It's all subjective to whomever reads the review...and again, we mods have no idea who that is.
You'll get a response that you may or may not agree with. Simply change one or two little things...or sometimes nothing at all...and re-submit. At this point it will be read by someone else, most likely, and approved.

Again...this system is not perfect...as is the case with most systems. But it is what it is...and is the very best resource we have so far.
The OP is correct in that "the whole purpose of submitting reviews was to offer honest advice and guidance to others who are members of TER".
Don't lose sight of the main purpose of things merely because it doesn't happen fast enough.

I can assure you that the issue has been brought up to the Admins of the site, and is being addressed.

Just continue to do the right thing for the right reason (posting reviews), know that it is being worked on, and have some fun out there!!

Ok, I am hearing a bit of noise from others on the board. Why is it taking so long to have new reviews posted? Second, why for no apparent reason are good reviews being rejected? I thought the whole purpose of submitting reviews was to offer honest advice and guidance to others who are members of TER. Is the problem due to a lack of qualified staff on the part TER management either turnover or cutbacks? In either case, I am not happy and want TER management to address this problem and not ignore it as appears to be the case.

I have posted reviews weeks ago, and have been told I have VIP access, and do not. I have tried several times to get this corrected and absolutely nothing happens. My first review was 1/3/2011 this year and I never got access. I never ever get a good answer or the situation corrected.

I too have recently experienced longer delays with new reviews however... I have sent an email to admin and in two cases had review posted within a day.  Also, in two cases where it was first denied there was a reasonable explanation, I edited and then had them posted almost immediately.  I for one am not looking for perfection in the system, expect at times there will be delays given staffing or lack thereof and overwhelmingly appreciate the review system which makes my hobby experience even better.
