Your safety and hers?

Gentlemen, I need an opinion on something I feel uneasy about. I recently contacted a young provider with decent reviews here on TER. She said that she wanted to verify some things for her safety and mine, and one of those things was my home address.

Now, I was willing to give work info, but my home? Well, after trying to get around it for a while, because she has some good reviews, and because the little head was doing the thinking, I relented and gave it out. She said that she would call me back after verification so that I could get her incall location. Well, guess what? Never heard from her, called her 3 times asking what's up with no response. I asked if she kept the info, and she said no, but...she has my name, my home address and my work number!

My question is, should I be worried about this, and has anyone else had to give out this kind of info to get a provider to meet?

I would not worry, and one can only surmise that said provider discovered something that she did not like, and decided to take a pass, which is the decision she was most comfortable with at the time.It is her right to choose, as is our's.

I never have quite understood the "my safety" part of that equation in the standard screening language.  But anyway, I would say that if you were going to have her come to you, which is so frequently the case, you would be giving her your address anyway.  I don't think it is too much to worry about.  She probably wants to check the address against pubic property records or something like that.  Now the part about not getting back to you is something else.  Maybe she just felt uncomfortable.  I know I have passed on a few providers who were probably just fine but I was not comfortable.  Maybe try her again.  See what happens.  Or, if she didn't turn your crank that much anyway, just forget it and move on. Good Luck.
