I hear all this talk from hobbyists about providers who are no-shows. But what about the hobbyists who are no shows??? I understand things come up in life and appointments aren't etched in stone but a phone call or an email before hand would be nice. I don't know how many times I have had an appt scheduled and never got a call to cancel or got one at the last minute. Sometimes yes, I do agree things come up at the last minute but then I have also had comments made as to "I got a call last night...i'm not gonna be able to make it" Why couldn't the appt been cancelled last night then??? We hear so much about providers need to respect the clients time, but what about the providers time? When I make an appt with someone, I block off a certain amount of time for them and them only to have them not show. I would hate to have to start requiring deposits for all appt's. I enjoy the fact that I am able to take same day appt's...I know alot of girls don't...So why mess up a good thing??? As a provider I feel my time is just as valuble as anyone elses...Am I wrong to think that?

damn straight... take those no shows and put them on your 'lamer list' and make em pay extra or give flowers or something next time around... your time is money don't waste it on unprofessionals. of course, sometimes things do come up, so it is good to be forgiving now and then...

I like to think that I am a forgiving person...I guess one just gets tired of always being the one who has to understand!!

I agree.  Another thing that I find rather amusing in reviews is when someone mentions "oh, she was 15 minutes late..."  Sheesh...is this a job interview or a recreational event?  I've never minded such delays personally.  But at some point a call is appropriate - say for a 30 minute delay, etc.

I agree with you - the client's time and the provider's time are both valuable. It goes both ways. Its just plain common sense that when you know you are going to miss an appointment, send a message as soon as possible.

By the way, I happen to be right in the middle of a real interesting week here in the Twin Cities - a provider who I have not seen yet has missed two appointments. But - and this is a very important point - in both cases she sent me a note as soon as was humanly possible. I appreciated that more than I can put into words. Pretty easy to forgive in this case.
