But based on my experience and from what I have heard, you have to be reasonably well known in the community or know someone who is who will vouch for you, it's hard to get invited.  This dates back to 2009 when LE went after two organizations, who, among other things, organized Meet and Greets,  People have been much more cautious since then.

And in case you are wondering, no I don't organize any of them.

Do these ever happen in Twin Cities?  And I mean a chance to meet a number of providers in a social setting.  I see them written up in other cities.  And a side question, are they worthwhile?

The meet and greets are worth while (I've been to several) although, like Vorlon stated, they are hard to get invited since they are organized by providers, usually and they typically only invite their close Provider-friends who are each allowed to invite only 2 of their close client-friends.  They generally do them that way so that there is a fairly even ration of men to women.

They've all been fun but they are difficult to organize, they put you in the spot light (which nobody likes) and there aren't many openings for men vs. women due to the nature of the beast.  

I hope that helps!  I know that once I "retire" I've thought about just hosting such parties but I'll need to workshop that idea a little more in the meantime :-)
