But im lucky in the fact that my family, and my close friends know..
My sister is a sex positive advocate and works in Provider Support Services as well,,
My parents are proud of us and the work we do within the community ,,
I also advocate pretty openly on my facebook about decriminalization and legalization of sex work and how it is different than trafficking and slavery..
I have always been pretty open about doing Marketing, Business Development, PA, Screening and Verification for women who work in the sex industry..
And id have to say 85% of conversations about my professional life I mention that I work for Independent Quality Women who work in the Sex Industry,, and I find that it sparks a great conversation about the differences between fabulous women who chose to do this work and underage girls who are forced into it..
One of the keys things I always mention is
" This industry is going to happen no matter what the laws are and that there needs to be strong voices and good role models that advocate a safe/secure sex positive industry.. "
I have to say that ive been pretty lucky that every conversation Ive had where ive had the opportunity to discuss the industry has been met with open minds,, alot of great questions that are non-judgemental but more out of learning and curiosity and allowed me the opportunity to break stereotypes..
My photo production company is Provider friendly .. everyone who works for BadGrrl knows that we work with Provider clients and the team of photographers and MUAH that we have specifically geared to our Provider clients love it, the love meeting the ladies and working with them and learning more about that part of the industry..
We are also listed with Project 515 LGBT wedding directory, and the fetish community as well..
Whenever im out and in a group and hear comments made like that ,, I use it an an opportunity to spark a great conversation, plant some seeds, open some minds and abolish ignorance..
Im also a sex positive person and talk about the benefits of open relationships, exploring, bi sexuality,, etc... the cover photo on my FB page is a sweatshirt that says Sex Geek .. because i talk about it quite openly and dont treat sex as taboo or something that should be talked about in dark rooms or hushed whispers ,, and the less people treat sex as something as taboo , the more accepted this industry and other aspects of it will be I think
