This topic has been beaten to death here on the MN board and on the General Discussion board.
Frankly, the argument you presented is intriguing. On one hand there is disdain for deposits. On the other hand, you admit you can see why providers would sometimes ask for them. Suffice to say, I know I’ve given numerous reasons and examples of why a deposit would be required. Think providers who do outcalls, providers who do not have a static incall and need to get the hotel using the deposit, extended dates where we can’t just find someone else to fill the time, etc. Unfortunately, too many people during the pandemic cancelled flippantly and instead of respecting the time and effort someone made to ensure they could meet you by sending a cancellation fee, they just ignore you or threaten a bad review.
We get it — several people don’t like deposits. Go find providers who don’t require them. Also, reading is fundamental. Read the ads and the websites. There are a plethora of providers in the area who do not require deposits of TER or P411 members for dates 1.5H or less, myself included. You might just find someone if you take the time to read.
I genuinely do like TER but at this point, every time deposits and screening comes up, it just reminds me of a petulant child who is mad they can’t get something they want the way they want it.
Also, I would be remiss to mention, there is a large subset of TER users who say they’d never give a deposit and then they do. A lot of people put on a facade for fellow TER client users but privately do the complete opposite. Just something to think about.
TLDR: New discussion topics please. How about them Twins? Any thoughts about the Vikings schedule? Why is there a business section in the newspaper but not a “labor” section?
