Pretty brave laughing at a person's poor spelling without using an alias. The defenders of the uneducated and downtrodden are sure to get their panties all bunched up. As you can see, I'm a puss, as is thumper.
With the technology available today, an ad (which they paid for) would be best if it was done without errors. A post on this board could have spelling errors without much care, but it is all about presentation in an ad. If I know they care enough to take time with what they are presenting then it draws my attention more so than a lady with spelling errors. If they are going to cut corners in the ad then they might cut corners in the session.
I notice my phone/device keeps correcting my words to the ones I use most often, so sometimes they don't make sense or are the wrong spelling (weather/whether)
With certain people I use my own shorthand or ebonics style, that I don't always care to use with everyone ( ur vs. your/you're & even wud n cud) it saves space on places like twitter that only allows so many characters when posting & depending on how distracted I am it's my rereading before I post that may be lacking... Though I'm the first to admit I'm not great spelling wise or grammatical usage wise... I love punctuation, & I probably don't use that well either..... I think as long as we are able to communicate & understand each other that's what counts =)

When I have been texting a lot on my cell phone and then want to send a handwritten note or post on the boards, I have to be mindful to stop using the texting shorthand. I imagine the same is true of twitter shorthand.
