Thoughts on the season. It's -4, snow and icy roads arrived earlier this week. As a kid I'd play all day, sleding, skating etc. Now as an adult, I stay inside, curse the cold.  Where did I go wrong?

Perhaps you didn't "go wrong" at all--as an adult you discovered how warm and cozy it can be inside.  ;-)

Dress warmly. Go outside and take a walk. Walk briskly. Breathe in the cold clean air. Breathe it in deeply and let it out slowly. And then again, take in the cold air deeply and let it out slowly. Repeat as you walk along. Then go inside and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate (your choice).

You didn't go wrong anywhere.  Just a natural change in life.  You need some playmates of the kind you had when you were a kid and learn how to play again.

and just love to spin around on an outdoor pond.  Breathless and pink cheeked, one warms up in no time.  I've been skating since I could walk and know lots of fun little places to glide across the ice!  A thermos of something hot to drink, rubbing cold noses and stealing kisses...

perhaps finding a providor to go sledding with would do the trick.  Better yet on top of a providor while sledding!

Maybe you're bored of the cold and need a winter escape to Brazil? Mexico? Arizona? Carribean?

Suggestions to bring back your winter cheer:

The Depot is a fun place to skate in the Cities. Ponds aren't frozen yet...

Tubing is fun!

Snowboarding, skiing, and even xc skiing!

Heck, bring a hot woman! Afterwards, you can soak in a hot-tub and sip on hot cocoa! Oh and remember your long underwear :)

I'm counting down the days until my Colorado trip...snowboarding in the mountains for the first time!

Have snow skis...will travel. I can't wait to try out my new skis!

I'll be chillin' up north near Lutsen in January. Anyone care to keep me company?

Otherwise, I'm open to anyplace w/good skiing conditions. Denver, Colorado, Utah?? Just let me know!

Winter:

A great excuse to drive the truck on a lake.

The perfect time to go ice fishing.

Cold enough so I can wear three piece tweed suits, tweed overcoat, cashmere scarfs, and not sweat.

Sex in front of the fireplace on a persian carpet.

You buy a fur coat, and a pair of Mukluks, and enjoy the beauty of each season.  Today I went out, it was cold but sunny.  LOVED the fresh air.  Hey, this is Minnesota, I don't plan on hibernating all damn winter, that just makes it drag on and on and on.  Embrace it!
