2 main reasons for me.
1) To help get information out for the lesser reviewed ladies. If I have had a good time with a provider who doesn't have many reviews, I ask if she would like to be reviewed. It's for her promotion. If the lady already has several pages of reviews, she has all the publicity she needs. 2) There are certain unique qualities or features about providers that will attract me to them. I appreciate when someone puts the information out there for me, so I put it out there for them, in the event that they are attracted to the same features/qualities.Every so often this question crosses my mind. What is the primary reason you gents take the time to submit reviews? I've seen & done plenty of speculation over the years but don't recall the question being asked. Or perhaps I just missed it. That is certainly a possibility. Any hoo... If you would please satisfy my curiosity I'd greatly appreciate it!

I do it to keep my VIP and to make my contribution to this board. Right now there are a bunch of girls advertising on BP with no reviews. Most are probably rip-offs in one way or another and certainly someone knows it. Why not share that information?
Writing reviews keeps me from paying for VIP and creating another chance at being discovered. I know there are ways to mitigate the risks (of leaving a money trail) but reviewing serves a double purpose.
Another thought. We can't exactly talk about this hobby with our buddies at the bar or at church. Discussing the hobby here relieves that need to a degree.
2late,
I had to laugh when you mentioned to "keep up your VIP"...but you have 30 or so reviews in the last 12 months so that's true lol.

The first two were to see if VIP was worth paying for. There were a few that were requested. There were a few appointments that were just so much fun that the reviews sort of wrote themselves. Now I need 1 more to get access to the RO board.
Of course I have written quite a few that got lost one way or another. I wrote 1 review and decided to get a drink before proof reading it only to have my PC reboot itself while I was gone. In fact, I think I have "lost" or never finished more reviews than I have submitted. There are a bunch of gals that would have received really good reviews if I weren't so lazy
...sounds kind of arrogant but I think it's 'cuz I like to wag my weenie. Having many reviews is kind of like earning Frequent Flyer miles; not only do you get the miles but there are quite a few behind the scene perks that come with it. An airline grants their frequent customers with preferential seating, upgraded seating, bumps to the front of the queue when flight cancellations force flyers to compete for rescheduled flights, reduced or gratis access to SkyClubs and expedited TSA screening. There are striking comparisons to the Hobby in these perks. There are several secondary reasons like informing your Hobby community about the quality of service you received from a companion which helps ensure consistent quality with Providers with other Hobbyists and letting them decide if a particular Provider would be a good match.
Writing a review on TER is time consuming. Dotting all the i's, crossing all the t's and checking all the right boxes to get a review approved can be tedious. In the end, I enjoy it, tho. ![]()
Yes Drumsticks, that's another reason I write reviews. At one time I was hoping I would someday overtake Vorlon's number. Then when I did, I realized he had quit writing them some time ago. Foiled again!

While I do have a few to write one of these days, I would still be well behind your total these days.
...as the ultimate challenge, try outdoing Beefeater500! ![]()
Shouldn't take me long to write a few more fake reviews. At 20 minutes a review I could catch Thorsdad in three hours!
The most reviews anyone has at the moment is a measly 329!
I am one of the hated ter members that does not do reviews. Yes, I feel guilty for not sharing more. Yes I would love more VIP time by earning it rather than paying for it. But I wrote one review on MFP just before the bust. That scared me and I decided not ever to write another. Plus they appear to be a pain in the ass to write.
I share the good exceptional experiences through the Friday shills. My memory is very good to relive any personal experience I have deemed worth remembering. There is also advantages to not writing reviews for some gals I have known. YMMV is an overused term to explain that descrete connections has it's advantages. I have never had a bad experience in the hobby, so nothing to warn about.
When I have VIP, I do read reviews. They usually tell me more about the reviewers than the reviewed.

I too never write reviews. All of my experiences in the hobby have been great. I only see well reviewed providers on TER and I'm happy to pay for VIP. Small price to pay for a safe and satisfying encounter every time.
To write a review that basically says my experience was about the same as all of the hobbyists who proceeded me seems like a waste of time. Also, some ladies may expand their menu to please me and would not want that information shared, and I would never betray a confidence.
When I started in the hobby I felt it was the easiest way to portray a presence to get some traction with providers. I continued to do it for awhile to let new acquaintances see what I liked and disliked in past experiences
I would have to say mine is pretty much the same. I started doing it to get known and now I only do it for someone who would like to have another review. Sometimes I like to write them so the provider can see what I thought about the experience and it helps when I contact them for another rendezvous.
For hobbyists to share information on which providers are legitimate, provide a quality service, and are the type, depending on our individual tastes, someone would be interested in seeing. And conversely, which ones to avoid.
The free VIP is nice as well and certainly having a history has helped establish my credibility as a legitimate hobbyist.
Similar for me. I found TER after what remains my single worst hobby experience and was highly encouraged to write a review. Which was denied, I suspect after the provider complained but TER wasn't saying. Since then I probably focus on them when I think others need to hear about a great lady, or if they are relatively new, were good with me and I think they might be able to use a boost. Try to ask them in that case--once in awhile a gal has reasons for not wanting reviews that I honor. There for awhile I gave up as TER wasn't even allowing very good reviews, but that seems to have improved. Not sure if their practice on rip-off and worse reviews has changed.
When I've written reviews it's because I thought I had a story to tell that would be enjoyable to read. IMHO many reviews on here are pretty dry, or clearly rushed just to get VIP, and to me if I'm going to write something I'm going to write something that's at least entertaining.
But I'm also guilty of letting nerves get the best of me and erring on the side of caution in terms of leaving a trail, and in at least one particular provider's case, I didn't write a review because I had so much fun I didn't want to share those experiences with anyone else but her.
Now I just kind of feel more comfortable keeping things to myself in this public of a setting.
I guess I'd be more inclined to write a review if mine was the first, or one of a few for a given person. Writing a review that is in line with 200 other reviews seems unnecessary. If the experience was notably better or worse than the average, it might be worthwhile.
I absolutely do not like writing the details part of the review. There is something degrading about sharing the juicy details with everyone who cares to read them, and I won't do it just to save a free VIP.
A quote from the founder of The Erotic Review:
"It was a way that people could be held accountable for their actions in this industry. Now girls prefer that they find clients on The Erotic Review. It already tells a guy all the juicy details, so he doesn't have to ask stupid questions."
His rationale:
The idea of The Erotic Review originated after its founder was ripped off by a call girl. The Erotic Review was the first Internet site to encourage men to provide feedback about their clandestine encounters.
Power Reviews (My Opinion):
The real power in the pay-for-play world resides in return visits
You betcha about the return visits and benefits...just like any other industry.

A man in a confessional tells the priest, "Father, I'm eighty-two years old and I'm having regular sex with a nineteen year old girl."
The priest replies, "Mr. Schwartz you're Jewish, why are you telling me this?"
"Are you kidding? I''m telling everybody!"
To keep my VIP so I can look up reviews and to make a contribution to the board.
2 main reasons for me.
1) To help get information out for the lesser reviewed ladies. If I have had a good time with a provider who doesn't have many reviews, I ask if she would like to be reviewed. It's for her promotion. If the lady already has several pages of reviews, she has all the publicity she needs.

Reviews are what give TER it's value beyond being just another discussion board. Writing reviews was fun when I started doing this. As I found ladies I enjoy repeat visits with writing reviews has become less enjoyable, now I write one if it's requested or there is a good reason to do so.

, if it was not a good time I won't.
If she does not want me to, I will never write one.
VIP is not worth that much to me.
only for VIP - can't get ripped off like tons of guys seem to be getting even with other rip off reviews of the same girl - happens more than you think
1. I do it as that is what I came to this board for... find out information about the lady I am interested in seeing, so I will participate in that as well. If the lady has pages of reviews, I still see the value (even if quite small) in providing what I recently experienced. I like it when a lady has recent reviews.
2. I do not feel I have a lot to add to most threads on here, but having a decent review history shows I am not quite a newbie anymore.
3. I do not posses quality writing skills related to telling a story, but I have found I like to write and share them. I was actually kind of bummed the few times I have been asked to not write one, especially when the meeting was a really great one. I guess I could still write one for myself, but that doesn't quite feel the same.
4. I believe a provider or two has actually read what I have recently written, as they knew some things about me that I tend to do, etc. This could certainly have come from screening as well, but I have heard more than once that that can be pretty basic as far that type of info sharing goes
I want to help out those good providers-- you know, the ones who put in the effort and provide a decent service. I try to write very objective reviews so other guys can use my experience in making a decision to see a provider. I do see a number of providers w/o reviews, and I will write a first review that will help them or warn other guys. I just wish more reviews were more objective and provided more details such as upcharge, DIY, real pics, is the provider friendly, etc.
I always ask the provider if she wants a review done and how much detail. If she wants one then I will write one, otherwise I won't. I guess I like them because I can read over them later and see our details from our meeting. This refreshes the memory and at times I have called upon the lady again just because of those great memories.
When I first started it was for free VIP & show women I'm legit. When I came back from a break it was to show I'm still legit. On the flip side I've stopped for a number of reasons.
1. I sound like a tool
2. Only see well reviewed women and can't add anything
3. Desire to keep my time private
4. Found 1-2 ATF'
I've only ever written one review and it was unasked.
I don't like to write reviews because as silly as this sounds that particular experience is mine and not one I want to share. There may have been another guy showing up in a half an hour for as great a time as I perceived I had but that doesn't concern me. Good for him and thank you ladies for being so wonderful to both of us!
I do appreciate reviews that other hobbyists write and definitely use them for screening material but I pay for VIP so I do not NEED to write reviews.
I established my review policy long before I ever joined this site, when I just lurked. I have 2 rules.
1) I'll never write a review if asked, and that is not a slight on any of the lovely ladies I have seen. It is just a personal policy.
2) I will definitely write the review if it is a shake and bake, rip off, bait and switch, or just plain not worth it. I haven't written any bad reviews because much like the lovely women I like to see I do my homework (aka screening) and pick and chose with whom I spend my time.
And by god! Has it has been worth it! Thank you!
I appreciate knowing what can be expected and I post to help fellow hobbiests know what they MIGHT expect. I also like to help promote a lady who is to my liking. It is like consumer reports.
to help ladies that I see on a regular basis. I usually don't do a review unless I have seen the lady three times. Ladies generally indicate that new reviews stimulate business.
I would probably write a review immediately if I had a bad experience, but that has never happened. Some better than others, but no cases where I have regretted the investment. I tend to be very thorough (or is it Thoreau?) in my research.
I have only a few reviews, because of a tendency to see the same providers on a regular basis.
I find some claiming to do reviews to maintain free VIP amusing. You can afford to see providers often enough to maintain VIP, but can't afford the $210 per year for a VIP membership. You might as well just admit you are writing fake reviews.
I remember a comment made by Catherine Spiga that, at one point, her 10 most recent reviews were all fak
I could easily take offense at your "I find some claiming to do reviews to maintain free VIP amusing" remark. I challenge you to find a review that I have written, that is fake.
Actually, I find you amusing as well. Anyone who would spend $210 on a membership, instead of on a lovely lady, could use his head examined

I could easily take offense to your statement "Anyone who would spend $210 on a membership, instead of on a lovely lady, could use his head examined." I've had both my heads examamand and both are functioning as designed, the big head is still smarter than the small one.
I don't review anymore because I haven't seen anyone new to me that's of interest to ether head.
All in jest you know. As SG says "Relax it's just sex."
It's been very enlightening. Have an amazing day & weekend! It's an absolutely beautiful day!
I am getting much better at taking things/comments with the proverbial 'grain of salt'. I was just responding to someone who had suggested that I (and others) were lying, when writing my reviews.
I can also understand the handful of reasons for not writing reviews. At least, I understand when no new information would be added. After that the reasons get less convincing, but then no one is really trying to convince me of anything, are they?

One review gets one a 15 day VIP.
365 days a year divided by 15 days yields 24.333 reviews for a yearly membership, round up to 25 so you are covered for the entire year. Figuring an average of $200/session for a provider means you spend $5,000 per year on provider services meaning the $210 annual fee is just 4.2% of your annual spending.
Now your reviews are short affairs, so let's say you spent 20 minutes per review. That equals 8.333 hours per year writing reviews. Dividing that into $210/year yields $25.20/hour cost savings as a result of your review writing.
As for me, I have more productive ways to spend 8 hours during the year. Also, as one who values quality over quantity, I simply don't see that number of providers per year.
Now of the 145 reviews used to maintain your membership. It is possible that each and everyone of them is genuine, as the math above shows. Do I think that's the case? Color me skeptical. $210 per year is simply not a big expense if you are already shelling out $5,000. In any case, even if you are completely forthright in your representation, it certainly does not follow that everyone else is now does it?
Ms. Spiga did not wind up with 10 reviews in a row being fake by people being honest in the review process. Those who wrote them were looking for free VIP.

Not calling you a liar, I am calling myself skeptical. I don't know whether you are or not. I do know that a lot of the reviews here are fake, the people who write fake reviews do so for free VIP. Does wanting free VIP make you one of the fakers? That conclusion would be the formal logical fallacy of affirming the consequent. As follows:
If you write fake reviewers, then you want free VIP.
2Late wants free VIP, therefore 2Late writes fake reviews.
Just doesn't hold up.
That said, fake reviews are common and people who do so want free VIP. Which is what my original statement communicated, i.e. there is a strong correlation between fake reviews and wanting free VIP.
Let me tell ya, I am a lot of fun at parties.
You do not account for people who write real reviews wanting free VIP.
If you write fake reviewers, then you want free VIP.
2Late wants free VIP, therefore 2Late writes fake reviews.
I started writing reviews after some less than great meetings mixed in with some great ones. Once I joined TER I was able to steer clear of providers who are a rip off. My first thought was to help others avoid the same. The flip is there are some really great ladies and as much as I want to help guys not get taken I want to help the wonderful ladies to build their business safely. That assumes TER people are a safer bet that BP respondents, which is a safe assumption generally.
Having been in the club so to speak for three years now, I am almost unwilling to even try any of the providers who do not have a review.
My third reason came later when one of my all time favorites was smeared by a jerk. I was pissed so I wrote a second review telling the truth and defending her, which was easy. The next time I saw her she said "are you the one who stuck up for me" I did not say yes or know but I did tell her that the bad review was unfair. She said it made her cry and it defiantly hurt her business.
Last one; I have seen adds that were very unappealing and I would never contact the person. but when I saw that they had been reviewed with high marks I decided that I had judged to quickly. The result is I met some really great people I would never had met.
The answer is it makes the world safer and more fun for all of us.
Crazy and not going to pay to see junk mail. Why dont they have the system set up so you cant PM a basic menber
As a basic member, they do get notified they have a PM but they can't read it.
You give something to community by writing reviews. I use other's reviews, which means VIP is sure nice, and (assuming the review is a good one) it gives the provider some free advertising. Everyone wins.
I write reviews only under my alias, and have only written them when asked to by a provider, usually a new provider. I would never write one if asked not to.
