I've asked this before and didn't get an answer. The reason providers can't moderate is not obvious to me. Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
The boards we have available are yet to be determined.
Anyone who meets the following requirements and is willing to help TER with a few open regional boards please feel free to email me at [email protected], subject: New Moderator.
Moderators Tasks:
1- Actively monitor their assigned board or boards.
2- Reads the messages in queue and posts or denies them.
3- Pulls messages which they find inappropriate/ trouble making or in violation of TER policies.
4- Answers members' questions regarding message boards or has the user contact TER Customer Support for any questions not pertaining to the discussion boards.
5 - Keeps the drama off the boards. Makes the boards an exciting and inviting place for hobbyists and providers by starting fun and informative threads.
Benefits of being a moderator:
1- Free VIP status.
2- Access to the moderators private board for exchanging information with other moderators.
3- Receiving fast support and accurate responses to your questions from TER's administration via PM, which is only available to moderators.
4- A TER moderator is more than a title. It is the proof that you have earned our trust by being a loyal, supportive, and valuable contributor to this site and community as a respectful hobbyist.
The requirements:
1- You need to be a hobbyist ( sorry ladies for obvious reasons providers cannot become a moderator ).
2- You need to be a member of TER for a minimum of 5 years with a great posting history on the boards.
3- You need to spend a minimum of 3 hours a day on the boards.
4- You have to be impartial, have great patience, and be a fair judge when it comes down to resolving cat-fights or stopping the white knights from taking sides and shilling for their ATFs.
5- You need to have enough free time to answer all the PMs that you receive from members.
6- The boards’ policies are for all, including you. Therefore you are expected to follow all of our message board rules.
7- As a moderator you are trusted with our members’ identity under their aliases. Outing someone's alias to other members, in private or public, will result in your banishment from TER.
8- Asking for favors from ladies (discount/freebie etc..) is strictly prohibited and will be reported to me by the ladies. Abuse of your title will result in your immediate banishment from TER.
9- You have no problem with losing your review posting privilege. Moderators are not allowed to post reviews or mini reviews. Reviews that were submitted before becoming a moderator will remain posted, but moderators will not be able to post new reviews unless they resign.

I read the list of tasks for moderators and I see no reason why a provider couldn't do the job.

Whoever moderates is privvy to information about others, and must remain impartial in resolving conflicts. I see no reason why a provider is somehow less able to do this than a hobbyist. Both providers and hobbyists participate in this community with benefits and pitfalls for each. The moderators are still allowed to hobby, just not write reviews. A provider could still provide. Hell, she could moderate with a different name. TheLoveGoddess is an alias. She may not be a moderator but she could be a provider for all we know.

Regardless if a provider moderates in a base she does not call home, some providers tour, and heaven forbid she has competition in an area. She could not approve the lady's ad posts for various reasons. And we all know many ladies are in cliques, and whose post do you think they will approve before another's...the lady in their clique or the outcast?
Hobbyists moderate areas they do not live in. So if they typically see locals, they do not have a bias over the ladies they are moderating in a different state than their own. Obviously there still are some moderators who have biases and shills, but this is based on a little flirty, NOT THEIR INCOME.
PROVIDERS SHOULD NEVER BE MODERATORS. There is enough drama between providers simply based on whether or not they think so and so is competition when in reality, she may not be.
Admin knows what they are doing.
If you want a hell of a lot of cat fights on boards, please stick to male moderators.

Influencing other hobbyists decisions.
I've got a problem with that.
If they aren't permitted to review, they shouldn't be permitted to make public endorsements of favorites either.
As TER's primary purpose is to serve as an information source for hobbyists, they may be unwilling, with a few specific exceptions, to allow providers to be moderators.
For all the reasons listed here, not to mention that the accusations, whether founded in fact or not, would be constant.
It would be unfair to all concerned, especially the provider. This is an escort review board. Some information is not meant to be shared. Even the perception of compromise is sometimes enough to bring a board down.
If it isn't obvious then I don't know what to say.
For the same reason a judge in a civil case with a financial interest in the outcome (stock ownership, sister in the biz, etc.) needs to recuse himself from the matter. Even though an individual judge may have the ability to remain impartial despite his fiduciary interest, it is still prudent policy to institute a blanket rule that such judges should not be involved in such cases.
Providers may have a financial interest in the outcome of reviews and often have relationships with other providers that hobbyists do not have. Hence, they should remain ineligible.

Not that I don't think the rare provider would be impartial but I just think there are some things where a man has just got to be in charge. Having to kow tow to a woman on a board like this would just be waay too much estrogen.

What I find so funny about the "reasons" listed for providers not being moderators is that they are not at all obvious. They sound more like fears and projections then anything rational. And some that hold on to them are so deeply enmeshed that they can't understand someone not sharing them.
The company that I work for won't allow me to hold certain second jobs for fear of "Conflict of Interest". Whether these so-called "fears or projections" might apply or not, it limits exposure.
Like it or not, an honest hobbyist (Not a shill posing as one) has no vested interest in how posts reflect on a provider. A provider, no matter how impartial they might claim to be still has way more skin in the game from a financial perspective.
You're taking this really seriously. I'd also like to point out that the biggest upset to the Minnesota community was brought on by a group of gents.
