Credit card transactions are easily reversible.  A lady might consider only accepting them from well-established gentlemen with references from ladies who he has paid with credit card, or a gentleman who provides his full legal name and employment information so the lady has some recourse should he go right home and dispute the transaction with the credit card company.

Good point, this may actually be a case where you're better off taking one of those un-named gift/cash cards.  Once the transaction clears, it's a done deal.  Since the person with the card has no "relationship" with a bank, there's no one for them to call to contest a charge.  Those kinds of cards really are just a cash substitute.

I had not even considered that aspect of it. Never disputed a charge but wouldn't your full name be disclosed to the provide when the charge is disputed?  

It just seems like it would attract unwanted attention to the client, I.e. The opposite of discretion

This is why cash is king in my book.  
Doesn't even matter about references and whatnot .

Some ladies will accept Visa Gift Cards, which can be purchased with a credit card at select locations. You would need to call locations that sell Visa Gift Cards to be sure they let you purchase them with credit cards. :)

Huh?  Who's calling to check balances?  You swipe the card, if it approves... done.  If it declines... No deal.  Nothing more complicated than that.  I doubt there are ANY providers that take cards that aren't using Square to clear them.

+1 Vorlon.  I would highly recommend NOT using a credit card.  That transaction will stay in your bank/card companies transaction log FOREVER.  It tells LE (or your wife's divorce attorney) the date, time, location and amount of the transaction, and who was paid.  Good luck talking your way out of that one in court.

On the other hand, you do get 2x the bonus miles for every purchase...lol.
