True "impersonation" of a member would actually only apply to their true handle, There's no such rule regulating the protection of an alias. Infact, aliases were created for the purpose of allowing posts to be occationally submitted anonimously when there is a need to not reveal their true handle, and it is actually a mis-use of them (although not against the rules)to establish seperate "personalities" or "characters" from multipal aliases just because someone likes to play "dress-up".

Post a copy or a link to that rule, written by TER, not yourself!

That moderator made a personal judgment call on that. There is no such universal policy regarding alias impostering that they were following. (hence the reason you can't link to one)
Infact, I was just involved in a policy/software adjustment with a TER staffer that removed the invisable keyboard symbol "ALT165" from TER's programs so true handle cloning is no longer possible. I'm all fresh in my understanding of what is allowable and this issue will vary from board to board at the discression of each moderator. On this board the only alias rule is that the handle behind it can't be outed. (unless I do it, which is unlikely I would ever do.)

If you want to be different just to go against
Mr. Info then that's your perogative.  Buy what's
the point?

Also figuring out aliases fair and square is an
old pasttime on the NY board.  It can be much
fun.

I didn't decide this to "go against Mr. Info". It had nothing to do with you, I just want to have a more relaxed board that is more hobby-centric, but an occational wild off-shoot thread like this is fine, but if it became so frequent and cluttersum that it overtook the hobby-threads, then I'd prune it back.
