I like the statue, good art allows for people to see different things.

I also find it crazy that a newspaper(editor) missed the misspelled word in the picture caption. LOL Sculpture has a "p" in it!

the beautiful womanhood aside, I see:
1. a blue lady
2. butterfly wings
3. a beautiful showy lady's slipper...our MN state flower
4. stars...representative perhaps of the northern lights
5. a pink dollar sign towards the bottom of the va-jay-jay in the pink swirly things...I do!
6. a female form in the lower right.
7. a tiny airplane

And, when I look at it again tomorrow, I am sure I will see something else.  That is what makes art so wonderful.  And that is why Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. We will all see something different in that sculpture!

I think it is absolutely a work of art and a brilliant piece.  It is too bad some are blinded by society's puritan values and must try to stifle an artists expression of her soul.  Hopefully, she will not let them.

Hugs, Belinda

P.S.  HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!  Let freedom ring this 4th of July and every day!

in an athletic event of any sort and for South Carolina to win by a large margin.  Can anybody guess why?  No, I'm not a USC fan.

Kinda hard to miss the clitoris, urethra, vaginal orifice, both sets of labia.

Was there any explanation of what all that was supposed to be if not a vagina?

Mmmm, everyone sees it a little differently but you would have to be totaly ignorant of female anatomy to miss the engorged clit and vagina. I had a totally different take on the water droplets though. Now if we could get the artist to plant a kiss in just the right spot! - that would be newsworthy.  She could take out an ad in Craiglist - "cum to Bemidji and kiss my my beaver for $25, extra $10 for the photo"

They beat a Pac 10 team, but it was UCLA.  Whenever I watch either Bemidji State or Oregon State with my friends, I tell them that the Beavers are ready for a good licking.

To me, I believe the artist was paying homage to those things Minnesotan. The vagina and water represent the nurturing Lake Itasca giving birth to the Mississippi River.
