END OF MESSAGE

Sometimes both patrons and providers present less than their potential.  I'd like to suggest that both sides deserve compassion and respect for taking charge of a difficult situation and deciding to make the best of it.

Patrons: difficult to define as a group, but all share the common trait of needing a form of affection that is not currentlly readily available.  They are human, their life isn't as rosey as one might think; they are doing their best.  They tend to have the financial means to easily solve wordly problems, but emotional fulfilment remains elusive to most.  The sweet hours of fantasy the hobby provides is one of the small condolences that fuel many of us through "real" life.

Providers: I don't know of a provider that could say that this is her ideal lifestyle.  Even the highest rated, the most genuinely enthusiastic about new encounters, are subject to the difficulties of working in an industry rife with mysogyny, social stigma, and emotional challenges.  On top of that, many enter the industry with emotional baggage and financial desperation before they even see their first client.

My point is that the MN board is just recently starting to show a real sense of community and I think that this is a wonderful thing.  At the moment, it might be one of the most active local boards in the country.  Let's take care of each other and demonstrate our sense of community.

Pehaps we can draw some new talent to take up the industry, perform better, and even be more inclined to visit.

Thank you to Vorlon and Minn4ever for consistently and intelligently contributing to the local community and making us all look better.

However, I do not agree when you say that the MN board is "starting to show a real sense of community".
It is not a community when we fight with each other, out incall locations (and more),  harass until providers and hobbyists stop posting,  and hate on providers until they delist themselves.    I am constantly striving to not engage in small useless battles and am learning to post my opinion and leave it at that.  (I failed at that recently, so I am no exception!)  We are a group of people with different thoughts, ideals, feelings and needs.  Therefore, we will NEVER agree on everything said and done here.   I am not saying we should all hold hands around a campfire and sing Kumbaya but why can't civility reign?

Point well said.  Call it either wishful thinking on my end or just naïve optimism.  I do think that MN has a chance to shine and we certainly are more engaged at the moment than most.

The sad part is that a VERY few have chosen to ruin it for many.......I will not mention a pretend numbers guy from a windy city. He alone has caused more disruption than any ten other people. It is really sad that the board lets him run rampant while censoring  many others for much more mundane reasons..........it is a sad day indeed. We need to band together and ignore one said person, maybe civility and more lightheartedness can return.........all we want is relaxing fun..............

Belinda I think you answered your own question as to why people cant be civil on here.
Also you have those that tend to take things personal & lash out.
Plus those who are never happy only when they can make others miserable.
And others who could care less & just read, sit back & laugh at the soap opera called "TER"
It takes all kinds to be on a "discussion" board & its only takes a few to ruin that discussion.

Really well said.  Thank you for posting this.

I am amazed how the occasional post on this board can express things about myself with more clarity than I can.  Maybe even things I did not realize about myself.  I am not a perfect match to MNBD's patron but I really related to what he said.

I agree, let's take care of each other.  Remember everyone is different.  Surely travelers here can understand that.

Sweet hours of fantasy.
