Yes, the article offers a sane and reasonable view of things -- but the comment section shows that many people are immune to the sane and reasonable:  You can lead horses to water but teaching them to fish is another thing altogether.  I am sure that I will never understand why so many find it so difficult to leave the adults alone.

Vorlon, that's a really good article.  the comments are interesting too.  perspective varies so widely.  those of us (women and men) who get to this hobbying place voluntarily and enjoy it, without being coerced, hurt or abused, are lucky people.  and my opinion is that everyone should be so lucky LS

Politicians cause both media and public misconceptions of the real problems. Its much easier to gain support when its oversimplified and demonized. Complex nuances are never part of the mainstream discourse. Thanks for the post on this.
