Just goes to show, even if the location is not hot for LE activity you can never be too safe.

I was reading a book about gender and geography, years ago.

I read that inner cities, historically, in the U.S. have been full of minorities, immigrants, and the working poor class.

Now, this has shifted, and more immigrants in the U.S. live in the suburbs.  Same with minorities.

I just find it interesting that pink collar labor, if that's what we can call prostitution, has moved to the suburbs, as well.

I guess I probably am not telling any of you anything new.  However, I just find this interesting, as it connects to information I already know, from reading that book.

! Muy Interesante !

I always feel uncomfortable, when I read statements like this one:

" "(The stings) really started because we started seeing some trends of prostitutes being victimized," Burnsville's Sgt. Dan Athmann said."

I am all about empowering women who have been victimized, but we do not actually know if the the men who were arrested, are guilty of hurting any women.

I will actually cheer, when I hear about human traffickers being busted, but not so much, when the working women and their benign clients are getting busted.

I totally agree with you. LE always uses this excuse to justify whatever they do and portray the hobby as a dark place however in most cases it's not that way. Granted pimps that abuse ladies, pedos and traffickers should by all means be taken down, but in reallity it would be interesting to see what % of their arrests lead to cases of this magnitude vs the number of cases where people are just looking for adult fun without harming anyone.

These people just don't seem to be able to conceive that adults can and do freely choose to do this without someone being a victim.

Even if we were to concede that all the women involved were victims (which I don't), could someone please explain to me why we are putting the victims in jail?

Of all the ladies I've met over the years, not one of them looked scared or intimidated in the least.Maybe I've just been lucky.I'm sure somewhere out there, that some women are being abused, but I doubt it's with the regularity the police say it is.I've been in this hobby for a long long time and there have been no problems for me other than the occasional disappointment in performance.

So the perps can go to "therapy" for 14 weeks rather than jail? What a racket. It would be interesting to know who runs that "Sex treatment" center, and what is their connection to LE ?

As far as I know on the womens side of the "rehabilitation " centers
some of the councillors/directors are former sex workers themselves, same with drug rehab centers
studies show that people feel more comfortable working on their rehabilitation with someone that knows first hand
what they're going through and often the chances they'll stay "clean " is higher
than that of working with someone who doesn't fully understand  .
I would think the connection with LE would be that most of the participants in the rehabilitation programs
wouldn't be there at if it wasn't for LE referring them to the centers in the first place.
It can be hard to go do that on your own accord and facing jail time is a good motivator.
I honestly don't think they're trolling public forums fear mongering against sex work either.

Nope because there is no explanation.  It's a power trip for some people and helps keep your taxes up because more people have to be hired for cops, the court system, and the prison system not to mention the damage it does to people's lives (like losing their job or source of income, etc) for this BS.

I stick with local independents generally. Who needs to deal with an agency or Guido the Killer Pimp? (Risky Business reference)
