I sometimes hear about the "uptown" area of Minneapolis. Can someone tell me the general area where that is at?   I live in Minnesota but not from the Twin Cities area. I am not  a huge fan of driving in downtown  MN but was wondering what is consider "uptown"?   You can definitely PM me if someone can help me out on that one.  Thanks!

and generally covers a large area toward downtown along Hennepin and east to Lyndale. Great area.

I would define uptown as the area west from Lyndale and Lake all the way to Lake Calhoun to the west and downtown to the north. You and argue where the south border is...

It's right next to the ghetto area. And you'll know you're in uptown when it gets crowded with hipsters.
