Yes, it pays to be careful, but really folks, what's next, swat teams and helicopters? I sense a wee bit if overreaction. Simmer down, take a break, get a little grip on reality, IMHO

Ok - went to see a fairly well known provider this evening(I've seen her before).  Mentioned a $$ amount for time-via text.

Arrived at the incall and saw a cruiser parked near by - no biggie. She kept me waiting a bit in the parking lot as I was a little early. Within a 5 minute time frame, two vehicles circled the lot(5 minutes apart). Both parked right next to me, one got out and made it a point to walk to the front of my car and looked at my plate(he had to go out of his way to do so).

They went inside and she called with the room number. I had a BAD feeling and bolted. So, 'wondering if they can come after me as they have my plate and will know who I am??

?

For sitting in a parking lot?

if they call stfu, and have an attorney's number in your cell phone.

Well - there is my text with mention of $$, and she would be able to identify me as she's seen me a number of times in the past(If, as I strongly suspect - she's now working with LE).

So yes, I did not go into see her - but they know I was there. Again - not sure what, if anything my risk is here?

tonightoutcall1840 reads

You didn't go in, its her word agianst yours. Unless you mentioned BBBJ for XXX$ in a text on your phone(non hobby phone) you should be pretty safe. Even if you did it's very hard to prove intent not going into the incall. Be quiet and don't say anything.

mnslider251825 reads

It was a hobby phone - now gone.

tonightoutcall1556 reads

You're pretty safe. Esp if she didn't know your real name and personal info. Even if she did they can't prove the phone number was yours or the texts were ever from you. So all you did was park in a hotel lot.

mnslider251295 reads

No - she did not know my real name or any other personal info. The phone was a hobby phone - untraceable to me.

I doubt anything will come of it.  If this was a real sting, the cops would have not been so obvious as to scare you off like that.  They would have wanted you in her room so they could have busted you. You were right to leave of course but I suspect you will be fine. But to be on the safe side, a call to a lawyer who specializes in these matters would be a good idea.

It is solicitation to mention sex acts for money even through e-mail, texting or on the phone. Hard to prove but still illegal. Hobby phones and annomous e-mails are really important. They can just charge a man and fuck up your life, the charges could be dropped a week later and I bet the retraction in the paper does very little to repair the damage done by being charged. Simple math, stay safe...

They might be able to charge you if you had mentioned money and specific acts in email but I doubt they would. Just tell anyone asking no comment, or speak to my attorney. They might take you in for questioning but I doubt you ll ever be charged.
     Probably never even hear anything.

If LE saw you sitting in your car and then blaitantly looked at your plates, it seems unlikely that the provider was in cahoots with LE. Why didn't you question her about LE when she called with the room number? Did you tell her you were leaving? Did she continue to try to reach you before your ditched your phone?

LE can be very agressive when they see a man hanging out in their car in a hotel lot.  I used to use hotels for free internet on a regular basis and quit doing it when LE would roll thru the parking lot and give me the stink eye.  I have had them stop and stare my way more than once.  One time I had one stop and box me into the parking spot.  Fortunately I kept my head, put my computer in the bag,  walked into the hotel, heart pounding and asked about the cost of renting a conference room for a meeting in the future (cover story).  When I returned to my car LE was gone.  Likely this was what may have been going on.  All I can say is if you need to wait for a provider do not hang out in the hotel lot.  Drive somewere nearby lot to wait and do not attract attention.  Hobby phone is key.  Probabally wise to change numbers from time to time.  I wouldn't sweat this, if they had something on you they would have questioned or arrested you.  One of my good friends is a lawyer and it is amazing on how many LE cases are solved my stupid people opening their mouths thinking they will talk their way out of stuff.  If they make contact do ALL of your talking via your lawyer.

You never would have seen them.

I also don't think they would take the time to track you down for a misdemeanor.

this logically with you.

First, if this provider was working with LE like you were so sure about, would it not make much more sense for them to sit in the hotel room with her or room next to hers and wait for you to make a grand entrance before pulling out the silver bracelets?

Fact: This girl is not working for LE.

Fact: You did well by taking off.

Second, you were sitting in a private parking for a fairly lengthy period of time. If this hotel has had issues with prostitution, two possibilities exist. Management saw you loitering on camera and called LE to investigate. I doubt this was the case as LE would have dealt with you on the spot.

The second possibility is much more logical. LE was busy making their rounds and saw you sitting there alone making no effort to exit your vehicle in a timely manner. Maybe there are aware that this hotel was frequented by prostitutes and johns. Maybe they suspected you were a drug dealer, who knows?

Chances are good they took your plate number down and went to talk to the front desk to see if you had rented a room there and if your plate number was on the hotel's room register. All hotels (with free parking) I know require guests to provide vehicle information.

Maybe they were talking to the front desk attendant to see if any guest was engaging in suspicious activity and receiving an unusual number of visitors.

Again you did well by taking off. If you had gone in through the main entrance, chances are good LE would have questioned you. If you gone in through a side entrance, chances are good LE might have been watch you on camera and monitoring the situation, maybe even knocking on the door you entered.

Overall no harm, no foul. LE might have looked up your plate number and it probably came clean but I would stay away from that parking lot for a long time.

Give yourself one pat of the back for getting a hobby phone.

Give yourself two pats on the back for taking off from that parking lot.

Give yourself three pats on the back for dumping that phone in the middle of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.

and

Give your five pats on the back for not giving out your personal information.

The lesson to be learned here is.

With the exception of extremely large (shared) mall type parking lots or similar, gas station lots (maybe), apartment or condominium lots (maybe), never ever sit idle in a parking lot of a small business particularly those of hotels unless you have a very good explanation. It is asking for trouble and most small business owners become suspicious right away.

You did well tonight, I honestly think you used some good judgement other than sitting in the lot. Staying calm and keeping your wits about you while LE scoped you out was a major reason they did not start questioning you right away.

Now go have a beer!

REALLY hope you're correct,'still really nervous. I'd like to thank you(and everyone else) for the support and kind words.
I've been in the 'hobby' for over four years and never had an experience like this before.

Just imagine how you might feel right now,if you had given her all your personal information, like real first and last names, place of employment, phone number...ect.

Then you might have something about which to really feel nervous.

That would be way too obvious.  Folks would leave, just as you did, and they would make zero arrests.  You've ditched the phone.   If for some reason they do question you further, don't say anything.    I think you will be fine though.

Sent you a PM.

BB

The vehicles circling the lot weren't cruisers. The cruiser I saw was next door.

always remember, if questioned, be respectful to the officers, ask to speak to your attorney and say nothing.

Though it may be difficult, try to stay calm the next few days.

Take care, BB

Email me at [email protected] for her info!    And, for enquiring minds....I have NEVER needed her but I have met with her and asked her questions!

You should make plans For what
you want for your last meal! Enjoy
the time you have left!

The BP ad with this provider was pulled this AM. 'Not sure if that's meaningful or not - but it has me back in the camp that she was working with LE again. Grooaannnn.(another sleepless night)

Yes, it pays to be careful, but really folks, what's next, swat teams and helicopters? I sense a wee bit if overreaction. Simmer down, take a break, get a little grip on reality, IMHO

I know a number of providers pulling their backpage ad after the date of. It limits calls when not available and lowers risk in my opinion. The enforcement budgets have been increased anywhere from 30-70% for trafficing and prostitution enforcement. Look at the number of well known providers not seeing new clients or a bit skittish. It an election year and if you pay attention to the news human trafficing has been mentioned in just about every media outlet in america in the past 30 days alone. The fbi ranks trafficing as a top ten concern, and while that shouldnt affect most of us to ignore it is crazy.
Kennebunk is a good example of what can go wrong.

If it don't look right, keep it movin. No pussy is worth it.

Lately it seems like there is always a marked squad at or near a hotel. I don't know what that's all about but it's par for the course and it doesn't bother me.

Hunters don't use scarecrows to bait their prey, so the popo isn't going to post a marked cruiser up in front of the spot where they are aiming to lure you into their trap.

The guy getting out of an unmarked to examine your plate is another story. Regardless of who or what the guy may have been, that can't be anything good. Considering the possibilities, you drew a logical conclusion, and made the best choice based on the look of things.

Thinking that they could do anything to you for pulling into the lot and leaving really is paranoia though, you gotta keep cool in situations like that or you're liable to fuck up.

Another thing to try - turn off DRL (day-light running lights) on your vehicle when you plan to sit idle in the parking lot. You don't want to tell the whole world that there is someone in the car & gather attention from surrounding businesses. Most modern cars come with this DRL feature.

Another thing is when the car door is unlocked, all the damn f***king lights (headlights, dome light, tail-lights, etc) just came on by itself. Just despise all these damn f***king automatic lights. Can't even warm-up a vehicle without telling the bad guys that this car is running.

The last time I check this feature is not required by law here in the US, only required in Canada. Manufacturer claims this is a safety feature. If one cannot see another vehicle coming down the street then one shouldn't be driving or at least have her/his eyes check. And the funny thing is in the summer when the temp is sunny & bright with temp over 90F, DRL is still on. What a good way to wear down the lamps.

Also, the f***king lights won't turn off for a good 60 secs after you leave the vehicle. Just hate this f***king auto lights feature.

owners manual dude. they all have sequences to disable things like chimes, etc.

or just call the local dealer and ask for help

but that's all. Stashing drugs is another reason someone would use a hotel (plus others) or people getting robbed in the parking lot, so they want to make it a presence and known that their hotel has security, if it were an actual sting, they;d just sting you...trust me over the years there have been plenty of patrol cars, I initially was freaked out, but now I get it,,,either way it's important to do what feels most comfy to you.

Anything ever happen?

No(thank goodness).  That said, it was quite the 'scare'. I'm seriously re-evaluating continuing the 'hobby'.
