I wonder if this could end up as a way of doing business electronically that isn't nearly so risky.

Saw this and couldn't help but wonder if maybe something similar might become a way to pay escorts.

How does someone take e-currency and turn it into a new flat screen LED TV?

That sounds dangerous. Where is the transparency? I would rather take my chances with a government controlled central bank than a piece of software. Who is there to say Bitcoin software has good corporate governance and would not rip off the customers?

government controlled central bank = too much power in too few hands... and the Federal Reserve really isn't government controlled, has NO transparency, being neither a government entity, or a corporation, it has no rules...

Besides, like another smart person said, food, rent, clothing, gas, ... the basics determine the true value of money.  Want to know what inflation truly is, go to the grocery store...

so I don't see this happening any time soon for the general public, never mind providers.  And, the providers who accept credit card payments run a huge risk of having those payments reversed by hobbyists.  I have heard of this happening a number of times and do not see it as a safe option for the majority of us.   Cash is King.

But whose to say what might happen as this evolves.
