I like smooth shaven the best. I usually shave myself as well. I don't know about that making it look bigger. Small is small even when its shaved.

Simply and for no other reason, I hate hair!  That's hair anywhere but on someones head.  I'm bald myself.  I really won't see a lady unless she's bare or clean landing strip.

I  think trimmed is nice, doesn't matter to me if its a landing strip or a slice of pizza shape, left long enough to be soft. Shaven is also very nice, but stuble is kinda a real downer. I agree thst there is a subset out there that ewuate it yo children, thsts kind of f'd up imho.
