I have a question for the ladies about references.  Do you ever get a negative reference?  Or is like a contractor, who is not going to give you a reference name and number when he screwed up the job and the person is upset with his work?
Do you always make contact with the reference?  We all know how difficult it is to hook up with some providers.
Big question is, how do providers remember all of the guys that they have been with?

I do receive negative references, and then I make my decision based on how bad the reference was (varies by scenario, sometimes I think its the girls own drama). I prefer a few references to cross check his behavior with multiple ladies. I always make contact with a reference and URGE friends to prescreen or screen hours in advance because these ladies are not always on top of their inbox like I am. I like to ride mine.

Anyway.

I remember guys sometimes more than others, and usually require a few references to the session to jog my memory. One guy told me what we did in a session and I said no, I don't remember that, and I suggested he give me his references again and he said he'd call back - he never did. That makes me wary and I know my screening is for a good reason.

Most ladies are pretty open to providing references, knowing it comes back full circle, but they will not give away their methods. I don't feel mine are like a special recipe, so I'm happy to answer a few questions. I'd imagine you'll get some similar answers.

I always take what a reference says into consideration along with his review history and board presence  but only  I decide who I see and don't see.   What another lady might consider a major offense, I might not and vice versa.    If a reference is provided, I ALWAYS will attempt to contact her.  Some have turned out to be fake .....i.e. I don't remember seeing him / I didn't see him.   Some need more information to recall the meeting.   Others simply are not reference friendly and do not reply.  In that case, I simply ask the gent to provide additional references or additional information.  Occassionally, I will contact the provider he has last reviewed.

How do providers remember all the guys?    Some make detailed notes about who they saw and his contact info and when and for how long and for what dollar amount;  some save their phone numbers under nicknames they have for their gentlemen friends; and, others save all correspondence of any type. And, other ladies simply don't remember all the guys they have seen.  That's why it helps if the gent can provide some little tidbit that would be specific to his encounter.   (ex.  the gal put her foot throught the mirror afterwards,  the cleaning lady knocked on the door,  maybe you have a tatoo or birthmark ...etc etc etc.  ...we don't like to hear the specific address of her incall or any details of a personal nature. i.e. her real name, name of kids, civie job)

The hobby world is like a club. It took me a long time to take the plunge. Once inside, its hard to return. For me the key was meeting a top provider who offered to provide references for anyone I liked. I had only two references prior to meeting her so she was a great find. I'm not giving her name cuz I did that once on the board and heard about (from her).

I require two solid reputible provider references for new clients...I never see anyone without references...nor meet beforehand for drinks to see if they are ok.
A provider was just killed shot in the head here in Chicago last week because she met the guy without checking references.
I remember clients by phone #'s.
