I'm new to TER, not entirely new to this industry, and I'm visiting the USA (specifically the Twin Cities) shortly for a while. I thought I might partake of a nice American lady whilst there. Sounds great, right? Well...
1) The perception of America overseas is it's the land of freedom. That might well be true if you want to arm yourself to the teeth with automatic assault weapons, but if you want to spend private time with a lady for some consideration? Apparently that's taboo? I can't believe how much interference and harassment providers and clients routinely encounter, having done a little research.
2) It seems that 'referrals' are everything if I want to spend time with a lady of any decent reputation. Obviously in my case, that is tricky.
3) 'Backpage' is scary.
4) I keep seeing reviews for 'DIY' masseuses. $150 to wank myself off??
So I'm not sure this trip will be so much fun after all.
Having said all of that, if any ladies would like to keep company with a nice, upscale, fit and attractive British person, I wouldn't stop you from adding a message below. **I don't have VIP at the moment*

In your situation, I would stick to:
1. Ladies with multiple reviews (personally 15 is my threshold) on this site that are to your liking.
2. Advertising on established sites such as [those that TER won't allow to be mentioned]. Preferably ads present on more than one.
3. Established professionally done personal websites.
4. Advertise as newbie friendly.
5. You are correct to avoid backpage,
6. Allow sufficient time for the provider to verify you. In your case, I would think at least a week out. There are methods for verifying people from outside the U.S., but expect it to take longer.

The OP may be exactly who he says he is, a nice British gent looking for some fun...or....not! It's the not that those of us on this board need to be concerned about before we start recommending our best providers. Safety is a primary issue these days and someone who posts this type of "in search of" having zero history or references is problematic for any provider, imho.
BTW, the OP did ask for providers to offer themselves to him on his thread, c'mon, really?
I think Uptonogood offered the best advice to the OP, a list of suggestions that if followed would be helpful should he be serious in his pursuit of a good "American" experience.

You are correct that some types of penetration are more smiled upon than others here in the States. I would also agree with you that one's own nether-point is usually more sensitive to pleasure than hollow-points and Spitzer-points, but when did we American's acquire a reputation for being sensitive people?

Well, I wouldn't stereotype anyone. I've visited the states on many occasions, it's just on this occasion that I may sample some of the escorting delights. Certainly, the ladies on this board seem very nice indeed and the other posters helpful.
It's the level of scrutiny by people outside of the industry that is striking. Reading through the forum postings, it seems that there are more issues with unsafe encounters, yet a greater level of interference with law enforcement. I admit it's hardly a scientific study, but it seems that the clamping down on providers and clients is doing nothing to promote public safety.
