Back in the day, my buddies and I would have an ice fishing cabin on Mille Lacs and we'd trade our unwanted eelpout to the Ojibwe ladies who would provide essential (ahem) services including cooking!    So, in one sense, hooking was an integral part of it.

It just may be worth investigating before posting. There is a popular search engine you could use, cant recall it  right now.
