I often wonder how these "who is available?" posts work as well. There are only about half a dozen women who are active on this board and it wouldn't take five minutes to call each of them (or at least the ones that are of interest). It seems pretty cumbersome to try and leave messages here on TER, and schedule something with back and forth emails.
I have never tried it, so maybe it works wonderfully, easily, and better than calling. Maybe the guys who have tried it would let us know.
I very rarely post a reply on this board; I hate some of the drama and try to stay clear of it.
In short, you are all right, and some of the points made hit the nail on the head. Yes, I tend to post once or twice a month. Some allure might exist to putting it out there to see who is available, but I think it has more to do with the potential spontaneity of a rendezvous than any analogy the likes of seeing what the nicest cut of meat available might be. Yes, it does work SOME of the time, and I have been treated to some of the most amazing encounters based on such impromptu sparks.
In all honesty, though, convenience and efficiency are the keys to this M.O., IMHO. Of course I call and try to plan when I know well enough in advance. When I seek a certiain type of experience, calls/e-mails/etc. could be cast one at a time or as a net based to my favorites and/or yet-to-be-made acquaintances on experience or hoping that reviews are accurate, respectively. If I lived within 5-10 minutes of a potential visit, I would likely be able to focus efforts in arranging appointments much more. (I would also likely be broke! LOL). Considering the distance I live out of the cities, though, sometimes it IS much more convenient to see what is truly viable based on responses to a more public approach to arranging a meeting.
