The other issue with being delisted is that all a person has to do is get acess to a differnt IP address, add a new account and they are back in action. There are many ways to circumvent the system
Is it because I stopped approving messages from and about M? She's de-listed, you know. Self-promoting isn't allowed if you de-listed. And the mere name-calling shouldn't be a part of the conversations, either.
Someone care to bring me up to speed on the whole M issue?
This is your board. How can we make it a place where you want to play?
This board just like any other regional board goes in streaks. There have been a lot of issues some very recent and many more spanning over time that have brought this board to its current status.
Many are afraid to venture out with all the BS and issues out there. A lot of people have a lot to loos is they are "outed" or if their personal information if miss used.
Your task will be to find a moderator that is both fair and understanding and knowledgeable to our local scene in Minneapolis.
De-listed means that the provider's review profile is no longer available on TER.
You may PM me or post here. Let's have an open discussion, if we can do it civilly. No name-calling, and let's not make it personal. Just your observations and suggestions, please.
Not trying to be a smart ass with this question, but I've always wondered, so I'll ask to make sure.
If a provider is delisted (has her reviews pulled) of her own request does it mean she can no longer post at all, or that she can no longer post an ad but is still allowed to participate in the "discussion" parts of the forums?
I assume that if a provider is delisted by TER then she has no posting rights at all in any capacity?
Most provider who are delisted by TER are banned from the site so posting rights don't really apply.
But anyone can always read the site. You don't have to even have a user name to do that.
Now, theoretically, a provider who is delisted by herself can post non-ad posts on the boards. This, of course, varies widely with the mod of the board and I have known some who won't allow any posts. The point at which non-ad posts become promotion is a judgement call.
Now, TER chat is a whole other story. There is no moderation (it's real time) and anyone who has a TER id (which includes voluntary delisted providers) can talk about anything - including promoting themselves.

I don't know the truth about all the disputes that have roiled this community lately and I'm certainly not going to point any fingers. All of us in this little community have a vested interest in keeping things under control and on an even keel lest we attract unwanted outside attention. Some of us don't seem to understand this and it seems to me we have become somewhat split into factions, and I don't necessarily mean just providers vs hobbyists either. We've had providers retire abruptly. I've heard of long established, well thought of providers complaining their business is way off. I had a talk recently with a new local provider who doesn't understand why she can scarcely get any business at all. Some agencies have stopped sending their ladies here or have cut way back. I think a lot of people are nervous because there is nothing to say it won't get worse. There are times when I wonder if I shouldn't dig a hole and pull it in after me for a few months and then check back to see if sanity has been restored. All of us should take a good long look at our behavior and think about whether or not what we have done is really in all of our best interests.
M is de-listed, so she may not promote herself here, and discussions of her are discouraged. From now on, let's keep this drama off the boards and have fun here.
