That one is really bad.....

I know this is a lightning-rod topic so I will just say this...  The previously discussed sting netted a higher-profile hobbyist, and therefore is going to be a lead story on the local news stations tonight, and was a headline today in the Trib online.

.....is the high profile fellow's life being flushed.  Sensitive job that was in the headline...gone... who knows about wife and family.....reputation, shot! This is another reminder that being caught by LE and having your hobby life outed whether it happens to a man or woman is not like a "parking ticket".  In most cases it is very serious with life changing consequences.  The lesson: stay safe, men do your research, gals the screening process must be tight.  We can play and have fun if we are careful!

The high profile thing is bad news for the hobby...  County Attorneys are elected officials....  When these things show up on page 5, they provide little electoral value, and thus there's little incentive to invest in them.  But when these things snag a high-enough profile person to get the attorney interviewed on TV, then they have enormous PR value.  In other words, they provide a lot of incentive to "double down" and try it again.

The other 22 victims may never get their name on the news but their lives may end up equally trashed.

I've taken a chance at times with Backpage and have passed on those postings that seem too good to be true... This is all the more reason to stick with TER. I guess there are those occassional "hobbyist" who have never heard of TER? These must be some of them? There are so many great providers with a large number of reviews; enough to know they are not LE. Better luck next time guys! * Just a note: I would perhaps never have heard of TER if not for a former co-worker 5 years ago.

His "violation" is a misdemeanor, just like driving with a revoked license, yet he gets dragged through the mud like he committed some heinous crime.  So-called 'crimes of morality' will always make it into the headlines, especially if the individual is high profile or tied to a high profile person.

It's a nice enough hotel. If I were in the area, I'd probably stay there.

FWIW I've stayed at one for a conference before & the staff were super nice people & I liked my suite.
Idk about working out of there but I agree it's nice enough.

It is a known haven of drugs, violence, etc. The LE was getting so many calls from this hotel a few years ago that it was almost closed down. I knew a provider that used it regularly; I never went back after one visit.

Never used that one before.
I tend to avoid fridley anyway. Not my kind of town.
I think when a place has multiple police calls to the scene for whatever the reason it's best to just avoid it altogether.

I once got directed there by a provider I was meeting. She had reviews and all, but I got a horrible vibe from the place. No way did I want to sashay through the lobby and leave half an hour later and the side door was equally suspect. I called and bailed. I'd do the same if I ever got directed there again.
