I was just curious. It makes sense if people are a little worried about doing a large event. It would be fun though...I guess it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Has anyone thought of hosting a Meet and Greet here in Minnesota? If not, it should happen soon...

What's the hurry?

Historically we don't have a stellar M&G track record here -- they tend to attract, shall we say, "unwanted attention." (Looking at you, Sgt. Snyder, you old so-and-so!)

I suspect there have been successful small-scale, private events, but I think a lot of us are still too traumatized from the Fast Pass debacle to host a more public M&G

This sounds like a interesting topic (finally)
Do you Lady's / Gentleman  care to share a few detail's ?
As I've never been to one. Or at least one that I would have liked to attend.
Doesn't sound Very MN nice so far!
Let's try to keep the train on the tracks! please !

I have attended one Meet and Greet event in the Minneapolis area during September of 2007.

The fee to be invited to the event was $100.00.

The Meet and Greet I attended was also a working party. As a working party, a gentleman could arrange a 30 minute session with an attending provider for $150.00.

I was fairly new to this endeavor at the time of my attendance. However, I was struck by two impressions from the event.

First:  Although providers appear to be uninhibited due to the nature of their advertisements, very few of the providers in attendance made an effort to work the room and talk to the gentlemen. The seating in the hotel suite was limited. Perhaps the seated providers did not want to leave their seats risking the chance of losing their accommodation.

Second:  Popular providers at the event may have entertained numerous individuals in a short period of time. For example, one provider had at least seven 30 minute sessions in a six hour period. I met with this same provider. I noticed very little effort to attend to hygienic concerns immediately before or after a meeting. I entered the room and left the room with her during the same period of time.

In any event, I was informed by veteran hobbyists that the premier limitation on Meet and Greets is that little incentive is present for providers to take the time out of their lives to attend the event. Meet and Greets tend to have an unbalanced attendance of far more men than women.

The ones I have been to have been smaller.

Years ago.  It was great, until the aftermath.  Right after the M&G, the MN Nice Guys were busted and made headline news and everyone around here was nervous about whose list had been taken as evidence and who was going to be arrested next.  I even talked to my attorney about it.  Nothing came down, but it was a nervous couple of months as I recall.  (Yeah, I know, 90% of what you worry about never happens - - but still worth worrying since it was such a public time for LE busts)

Haven't been invited to any since, but I also haven't gone out of my way to look for any.

On the good side, I met a couple of really great providers in person and became regular with both of them for quite some time.

So, as for me, I'd probably go for something small and very private, but any large-scale public M&G: no thanks.
