That’s the kind of perspective this board and TER in general sorely needs more of.

Having been out of the game for a while, I am finding things have changed. I knew TER was gone for a couple of years and was happy to see it back. But it seems to have lost its glitter. Most of the MN reviews are for rub & tugs. And looking at the list if top providers, there are lots of providers not listed - i.e. no reviews in the last 90 days. They  are still very active on P411  but no reviews.

It used to be competitive. There was a pride about being number 1 or in the top 10. I was asked to give reviews and would sometimes get a call saying that a provider had not had a review for a while and were worried that they would be dropped from the list. We would meet and I would report - a win/win for both of us.

Covid or no Covid, the ladies are working. Does TER no longer have a relevant place in MN?

A Vegas lady visited here a few weeks ago and I mentioned all this to her. If you look at the Vegas boards they get many ads daily and ladies write on discussion boards all the time. They want the business and the board is fun to read. The ladies there want to interact with us as we want to interact with them.
Even on tryst there are tons of girls who are newer that are not reviewed and totally unknown.  It is up to us to actually write reviews and talk about them and tell people who they are (reviews=business). As for the many who used to be in top 10 and it meant alot to them to be on the top 10, a number have delisted or else guys are just not writing reviews on them because they are told not to. Maybe they just don't get business and no one likes them anymore.
I remember one a few years ago who was ultra competitive that used to put bj pics here on the ad boards and then once a couple guys called her on it saying she does that she vanished from here.
Guys just need to start writing reviews if they see these once popular girls.

So I’m not sure we can draw general conclusions from that time period. I know several well-reviewed providers who shut down for awhile due to the pandemic, and when they started up again did so slowly and carefully.  For example, one provider told me she’s seeing only four of her long-time regulars now.  Even if she were seeking new clients she has plenty of reviews, and she has P411 etc.  Another well-reviewed provider I know know spaces her appointments out and asks that guys she sees haven’t seen any other provider for two weeks. There’s other examples but that gives you an idea that these are not normal times.

Then we need to look at TER as it is today and think about why many providers would choose not to participate much if at all.  If they’ve laying low and seeing a small number of clients, they don’t need the exposure of placing ads here and posting here and getting new reviews.  Then look at the threads here over recent weeks and maybe it’s no surprise a lot of providers don’t want to participate.

There are other channels besides TER. You mentioned P411. I’ve found that invaluable, especially in recent years when TER was on hiatus but also during the pandemic.  Twitter is popular with many providers.  And Tryst etc.

When TER went dark, other channels took its place.  Providers and their customers got used to them.  Thus TER may not have the importance it once had. Check out the number of people on TER—the numbers aren’t close to what they were before the hiatus.  A lot of people have moved on.

People found other resources to use, even if they might not have been as useful.  It was always going to take a good while for TER to regain its stature and it may never get back to being the dominant site.  Then you throw in the upheaval from the pandemic,  which is still going on and who knows when things will return to normal or something close to it.

I miss the good old days but they may never come back.

I'm not sure TER was ever a big player in the escort market.  It was more a niche.  The site claims 1.6 million reviews over about 20 years.  Or about 80,000 a year.   Many escorts have multiple reviews, so let's say 10 each.  So that is 8,000 escorts a year.   Lets distribute them evenly by 50 states, or 160 escorts per state.   These aren't accurate numbers but give an idea of the population.  For comparison there are roughly that many escorts active for MN on p411.  We know p411 is also just a fraction of the escort community.   How many escorts are there active in MN?  Hundreds?  Thousands?  Don't forget sugar babes are "legal" escorts and may have take up some of the numbers that would otherwise turn pro.

If you want to make real money.

TER and P411 is all you need.

I don't think they ever had a presence in the higher end of the market.  I'd say they were a niche player in the lower end as well as so many of those providers never had a web presence and even many of those who did were never aware of TER or didn't care about it.  There were also lots of hobbyists who never used it either. But in the internet aware mid-range market they were dominant.

Do ladies want to currently be on TER..... the answer is both yes, and no.

Many ladies feel that TER is necessary for their business. For a lot of ladies TER going dark proved to them that there deep seated feelings about the board was true. They didn't need the boards in order to thrive.

I personally felt it was nice while TER was gone. No one was threatening  to write a false bad review during that time they were down because you wouldn't change your boundaries. Also you got to see clients for who they were no board personas came into factor. People followed screening protocol and didn't just say that I am such and such on TER. Ladies were allowed to take control of their safety back into their own hands. It made a happier and healthier environment for ladies.

For years gentlemen have said that the boards were made for them. Like being a woman on the boards are opinions didn't matter. So with ladies having to change how they did business coming back was just not a priority to them. People can't keep telling other that they don't really matter and only those writing reviews matter. If the boards continue to be male ego driven ladies won't want to come back. They will just delist and keep their lives moving. The shutdown proved to them that they didn't need the boards so why comeback to a hostile environment.

Show these women that they are valued, and appreciated. Show them that respect goes both ways and they will come back. The women have banded together despite their differences, so when guys tear down one they are being supported and held up by the other ladies around them.

A lot of ladies have hit a milestone in their careers as providers. They have been around 5+ or 10+ years. Those ladies have built reputations in good standing so the need for a new review is not on the top of their bucket list. Many ladies aren't fond of explicit reviews and to be reviewed on a number scale based on what services they did or did not provide. We have to accept that the industry has changed. We have to accept that with social media being so prevalent you can build a following without reviews. You want providers to come back, we have to build an environment in which they want to come back too.

Have a blessed day,
Andrea

Well written and thank you for posting.

For the most part, I thought the level of hostility was overrated.  There were always a few assholes and yes sometimes things did get vicious but I never thought they were more than a small minority.  Yes, they were often very offensive but I think we gave them too much power.

Of course, it's true the well-established providers have less need for TER or similar sites.  Whether that is true for new providers is another question entirely.
