I see a lot of these places advertising a "theraputic" massage and also offer a free table shower. I am tempted to try but wonder if they tend to be just a teaser or a way to detect your intentions and desires. I don't want to be given blue balls with this type of treatment but find the possibilities also intriguing. After doing numerous searches on this site and others I find very little insight on what to actually expect. I imagine YMMV but what have others experiences been like?

Are exactly what they imply.  Can be enjoyable.  Had them in Philly and NY and in those cases they led to full service.  That certainly doesn't mean they all will.  Like you said, as with anything else YMMV.

are at all kinds of places. I have enjoyed FS, BBBJ, HE and just FBSM at places with table showers. With the exception of a few places (an endangered species, for example) the chances are good that there is more.

I'm only aware of one amp with table shower and fs.  And the other ones are strictly DIY, no upgrades, just massage

table showers are done on a tiled platform about thigh high.   there is a pad on the platform and the masseuse or shower girl or mamasan stands next to the table in rubber boots and uses a handheld sprayer to clean you using a soap loofah.  

Just like massage in general, it can be all above board or it can be a little bit more fun depending on place and woman.    

For me, even when it is all above board, I still find the whole thing incredibly enjoyable and fun.

Typically, table shower, sauna, massage, extra curriculars.    If you are lucky (or in Dallas) it can be super fun in shower, followed by massage, followed by more fun.

I would suggest to anyone, man and woman alike, that they should try one.

That is what I was afraid of... having to try many to find one that I liked. I was kind of thinking that they may be just teasers since I have not come across much info on them on this site.
