Here's the latest proof that we hobbyists are geniuses! :)

I'ts worked for me many times when I'm in a situation of questionable-trust...  (Which is MOST of the hobby-situations I've ever ben in!)

I line up all the bills the same direction in a stack, then tear the stack in half before going up to the room. I hide one half in a different pocket, and keep the other half handy... Then we discuss the "terms" of our time together with the one half of the donation visible... I hand it to her and explain that "the other half is available when we're finished, per-our-agreement"....

I've watched as the girls try to line up the half-Bens and see if they can make any whole ones, but when they realize there is no way to get both ends to be the same side up, they usually lay back on the bed and pull their ankles up behind their ears without argument...

I have had a few scammers call me later apologetically and ask for the other half, to which I am always forgiving and say "sure sweetie, just as soon as you finish the job", which they ALWAYS have come through on!

When i first read this, i didn't see the logic of your technique.
Separately, the half's you hold are worthless as the half's she holds. Kept separately, no one benefits financially, and in fact DJ stands to lose his entire value. But, if these participants decide to work together, each will benefit. And if they don't, DJ still comes away from a bait 'n switch with the satisfaction that he wasn't duped. And at the end of the day, satisfaction, even a little, tastes pretty good.

Oh man, that was too funny! Thanks for the post.
