Where is the best place to get those phones?

$100 gets you a phone, 1 year of service, and 450 anytime minutes. With this one you don't have to worry about adding minutes every 60 days since it's good for a year.
Tracfone also has one of the largest networks of the prepaid carriers. There are no charges for roaming.
I shill for my favorite girls so I might as well shill for tracfone too!
Thought you guys may like to know. And it's nice seeing discussion here as opposed to just provider ads like you see in other regional boards.
Cheers,
Tiger
Where is the best place to get those phones?

I bought a tracfone (Nokia) at Family Dollar store in Glencoe, MN for $20.
use their retailer locator on their website. I know wal-mart and radio shack sell it. Use cash and a fake address if you want to go into secret agent mode.
....you buy the top off card for $100, you get 1000 minutes, good for a yr, and you can pick up the Nokia phone for about $35 at WalMart.....with T-Mobile prepaid, once you get 1000 minute card, any subsequent card purchase(s)give you 1 year to use those minutes......so for your consideration, $135 gets you, phone, 1000 mins and good for a year, no roaming.......another bonus is that you DO NOT activate the phone from any PC....activation is done thru the phone only at this time....
I had T-mobile about 3 years ago and the coverage royally sucked. There were large swaths of populated area with no signal at all. Forget about using it inside buildings. There aren't that many carriers that T-mobile can piggy back on for roaming.
I looked at Virgin too. They look good but still have coverage issues. Tracfone appears to have the best coverage while T-mobile gives the most minutes. I don't plan on using too many minutes for a hobby phone.
.....not sure if you outside the metro though....another consideration may be NET 10 which uses the Sprint/Nextel network.....their deal is 10 cents a minute if you purchase their 1500 minute card and it is good for a yr.....no roaming...otherwise their smaller denominations are also 10 cents a minute but expire anywhere from 30 days to 180 days.....depends upon your usage patterns.....their phones start at about $40......just consider all the options..... Tracphone just always seemed to be the most expensive(IMHO).....
on the pay-as-you-go plan is 500min talk time.
Also, if you use the 90 card, it secures your account for 1 year, with no need to re-up every 60 or 90 days... It works out about the same.
Also, Virgin has no minumum monthly charge that nibbles away at your money... I usually just use up my phones and throw them away when the minutes run out, I don't like my numbers collecting on provider/agency data bases, or being stored in the speed dial of every skinny crack whore in town! (I do alot of street-fuckin' and exchange numbers with those girls, they call me ALOT! Sometimes it's nice to just "disapear", LOL!)
Does trac-fone allow you to register online using bogus info? That's what I like about virgin, they allow me to use Disney names and phony addresses all the way through the prosess...
....not sure about Trac fone registrtion but T-Mobile lets you register from the phone itself...shit, the only info they wanted was a first name( I think I used yours...
....and a birthdate( made one up) and the dude at WalMart made the call for me....so even less chance of an electronic trail being left.....which serves as a reminder that if you are registering a pre paid via a PC, DO NOT register from your home!....DO NOT use your own PC....and DO NOT use any real personal info...this has been a public service announcement......![]()

and then I could use that for more hobbying!
.....only SLIGHTLY better idea than the last one you had about being a male escort....![]()
Enough people have told me to work a little harder or hobby a little less. But I love to hobby! Work really cuts into my valuable hobby time. ![]()
....or you can hobby MORE and spend LESS or the same.....it's how you allocate those dollars....![]()
but you would have to top up in 60 days if you want to keep using it. This is also from Tracfone.
I have been saying this since I got my Tracfone.. It was a bad mistake.. from my best understanding T-Mobile is one of the better deals out there...
Damn Fletch! That's some serious hobbying!
