Got a friend close to MSP looking to be a provider.  Total newbie.  Needs an agency to take care of appointments, screening, rooms etc.  

Any recommendations?

The agencies I hear mentioned locally are all based elsewhere.

Just doing good old fashioned research? There is a plethora of much information available via the internet to start this business as an independent successfully without going through an agency. Will they need to bite the bullet on overhead costs? Absolutely! However, if they give themselves at least a solid month of research & time to get everything together, they probably would be fine. It's just a thought!

... with bad experiences from which she might become quickly jaded. There are many honest, quality agencies around the country that would provide support and trust that would help her develop the skills and confidence for her to eventually become independent.

I recently helped a girl transition from SA to provider.   I met with her and gave her her first TER review and got her on p411.  She did go inactive shortly after for reasons unknown, I think she wasn't getting the level of business she wanted.

So it's not that hard to start as independent.   To my penny pinching mind, if you learn how to do it all yourself, you save a lot of upfront money.  You really don't need a scheduler until your inbox is consuming all your time.  But that's later in your career as your service has become known.  Get on p411 and use that as screening, etc.  Anyone can book rooms.

There's really no reason for an agency.

Being new to game she would be well advised ,to talk with  hookers that have used or are using agencies , to get their experience . Only she knows  what her circumstances really  are and what she can handle  without becoming overwhelmed or go  down in flames.  Just have her read  the shit on social media, see if she wants to deal or pay  for not having to deal  with that list of complaints,  regarding P4P.    

  If she is poor  time / money manager a  agency can be valuable to her at least until she gets her bearings. May also give her chance to build a network of providers that can mentor  her .  

 
It would  also benefit her to find some well grounded , smart independents  that may be willing to share with her how they started sucessfully as  Independents. That will give her unbiased information.  

She needs to figure out what is best  path for HER at this time.  No one can make that for her.
