one attorney involved was disbarred today.

A "breaking news" version of the article on the website of a local newspaper confirmed that the original tipster was a john based on the events described by the task force investigator that led to the bust.

"The investigation started in July 2008 after Minneapolis Police Sgt. Matt Wente and his partner in the department's Violent Offender Task Force, Sgt. Grant Snyder, got an anonymous e-mail from a john who said St. Marie was supplying illegal immigrants for prostitution. According to police, the e-mailer made contact with St. Marie at the Erotic Review, an international website for self-described "hobbyists" looking for high-dollar escorts."

I don't think the Task Force confirmed that the tipster was actually a john, it might have been a disgruntled local provider posing as a john. You never know. If it was actually a john, obviously something happened within that group to tick him off.

yeh... these guys sound real violent.  congrats to LE for getting these dangerous thugs off the street...  I will sleep better now.

Was it ever discovered who tipped LE about the Nice Guys group?

It was either a disgruntled client or provider.  Only ourselves to blame.  

Be very careful who you talk to. If LE calls you make sure you get a lawyer before you speak to them.

and she came to the country legally, but had overstayed her welcome. She had quite a few stellar reviews.

And their hubris. You can never stop being careful. Eyes open, always.

I also remember hearing that what really allowed LE to make a case was that they did arrest one of the girls who was from another country (don't know if she was here legally or not) and she agreed to work with LE.

im personally very upset it was shut down i was just starting to get contacts...   i hope something  similar starts.. its only a matter of time i think...
