On the price of tea in China...

Ok, so recently, I commented on the working guy's post and have read all the comments carefully.  I had the hair brained idea of commenting on said thread, and my email, TER, and p411 inboxes blew up 8-/

So, now I'm thinking this is why girls raise their prices.  I repeat that I do NOT want to be greedy, but good lord, there's just only so much a girl can do.  I also don't want to upset any other providers that totally deserve the higher price as well.  I'm at a loss and would really love to hear what both providers and clients have to say about it.

Go for it!  You can always lower prices if business gets slow--though you then run the risk of seeming desperate--running specials, etc.

Lots of ladies raise prices, but "grandfather" their old prices for already-established clients for three months, six months, a year.......

As a previous poster said, it is up to you to see who you want and at what price.  The premise to start with is that this is a business and some sound business principles can be used to help you determine your pricing.
1. Supply and demand.  If you are in demand you can charge a substantailly higher price than someone in low demand.
2. Higher quality gets a higher price.  From your reviews it appears that you are very high quality which allows you to be at the top of the market in price.
3.  Your clients will tell you when you are charging too much, they won't seek you out as often.
4.  A higher price that is tolerated by the market means lower volume to make good money and lower volume means SAFETY for both you and your clients.
5. Many of us (clients) will (and do) pay a premium for a high quality, lower volume provider.

Finally, since I assume that one of your goals is to enjoy this business and have fun, you can still see clients who you know cannot afford a higher price and offer them specials.
Imho.

and flash a big smile for yourself; grow a backbone, a pair of balls and decide for yourself how to run your business.

The day you let others decide how to price your services is the day you lose control of it. You are not a business owner anymore, you are working for them.

Walmart does not tell Target how to price their stuff and neither does Target tell Walmart. If either tried, I don't think the other would give a shit.

The truth is anyone that tells you how to price your services is looking out for their own selfish needs and not yours. Other providers prefer to set the market at a certain price because it will take customers away from you and maintain their demand. If your price point is taking customers away from them then it is up to them to justify their service, price and make adjustments based on what their market will support. It is not your job to help them make money.

Most providers are popular when they first get on the scene. Eventually guys will start looking for other providers. You raise your price and your demand might drop right off the bet. There is no stopping another provider from offering the same services you do at a cheaper price and when this provider comes along, guys will flock to her. Most guys like the popular new girl until someone else comes along.

These are all factors you need to consider. You don't want to put yourself in a position where the only time guys want to see you is when you offer the dreaded "special" or sale price.

...and the price of pussy in Minnesota. Fuck what providers and clients have to say about it. Do what you want, when you want, with who you want, at whatever price makes sense for you. If you upset other providers that is their  problem, they won't be making any deposits into your bank account. And the clients will either pay the freight or keep steppin. You can't please everybody, but you can please yourself.

You ask a marketing question that has confounded the pundits. The simple fact is, your massage is absolutely on  a par with providers who charge a third more than you do. But there is something to be said for being the best value in town. If you raise your rate to match the others you will be one of a number of very good massage providers, but will no longer be the stand-out good value you currently are. You have to balance the downside of possibly leaving money on the table, against the upside of being able to stay just exactly as busy as you want to be. Most massage providers advertise more than you do. That says something.

Everyone who responds will have his or her own ax to grind. You don't owe anything to providers who would like you to raise your rate so they can better compete against you. This is free enterprise. There is no union. Price fixing is illegal. You don't owe anything to hobbyists who would like you to stand fast, or lower your rate, or work for free. Working guys don't drive new Mercedes and they don't own mansions in Kenwood, either, This is free enterprise. You are free to charge what the market will bear. The fact you are busy means you are not over-priced. The only state of mind you should be concerned about is your own. If you feel you will be happier charging more, do it. But prepare yourself in advance for guys who think they should be grandfathered, or pretend they don't know about the new rate.

Having said all that, since most of your clients will come to you direct from an ATM machine, raising your rate to a number evenly divisible by 20 seems like a no-brainer.

Whatever you decide, you know I'll be back. Can't resist a good darjeeling. Oh, wait, that's India.

Seriously, that is not for me or anyone else here to decide. What others think about your rates is highly irrelevant.

If you offer an excellent experience, there will always be gentlemen willing to see you no matter the price. Sure you will miss out on some men here, if they think your rates are too high (or too low) similar to those who are not ok with screening, outcall (or incall) only ladies, etc. It comes with the territory, but rest assured there is someone for everyone.

So charge what works best for you in terms of volume, your finances and lifestyle or any other criteria YOU see fit. Simple. Find the right balance and enjoy yourself.

Good night, night owls.

on how our little hobby works. Kudos. I may be a socialist on issues of health care, education, retirement, police, etc. But I am definitely a capitalist when it comes to the hobby. You are in business. You have duty to yourself to get the most revenue for the least cost. Only you and the market can decide what price point will do that for you. "Greed" is good, so long you are providing a valuable service for an above-board price (bankers, politicians and hedge fund managers, I am NOT talking to you).

of 'owning' your own business and being your own boss are to be able
to set your own hours and set your own pricing.  I wouldn't worry
about upsetting anyone.

Trinity it is your decision.  Do what you believe makes sense for you.  And if it doesn't work out as you hoped then change it.  The only suggestion I make is think about what makes sense; don't let your emotions rule your actions and lead you into doing something you will regret.

There have been times where I've been unable to schedule appointments with 'regulars', and ended up looking elsewhere only to find something better(bye bye previous regular). My point, if you price-out current clients, you do run the risk of losing the 'business' permanently.

Food for thought.

I am sure most of us would not be where we are without those men. You know the ones who TOFFT, wrote our first reviews and gave us pointers on how to improve the experience, etc. You cannot deny those gents are fabulous in their own ways.

If you decide to grandfather, you can make that public knowledge on your website/ad or share that information privately with your old friends. Whatever works best for you...

Good luck!!

Charge your old clients (the ones that are here singing your praises) as much as they are advising you to charge others and then advertise some "new client specials"! Get the new clients hooked and jack up their prices too!!

Actually, why doesn't TER just add a spot for us clients to advise all the girls we review how much we would be willing to pay before we go broke or just start jacking off instead.

I do adore you and your advice.  And all the guys have you to thank for me wanting to keep my price as-is.  I must say, though, that I hate $5s and $10s... Lol
