Ya'll need to ask for what you want! ;)

I, personally, have an eclectic taste in music (huge Opera buff, actually) and could easily create diverse playlists to set the mood. I'd really hate to think that my music might put someone off, so I'm glad when someone expresses a preference, as with other...activities.

Thanks so much for the input, cheeky or sincere.

Personally, I love having music on during a session, I try to curate my playlist to songs I find sexy and sensual. Of course, musical tastes can vary widely, so I'm curious. Do hobbyists notice the music? Is this a non issue? I have one acquaintance who loves to be beaten to classical music, so to each his own! What kind of music makes *you* want to get down?

... I do notice the music. Sometimes the lyrics fit exactly with what we're doing. That happened recently and we both stopped and laughed.  Now that's a well-crafted playlist!

As for genres, I prefer jazz, blues, soft rock, or classical when I'm gettin' down. For example, I love Norah Jones... such a sensual voice, with a touch of playfulness.

Music can add another dimension to the event, what ever it is.  Think about when you go out to a bar or a party and there is good music playing, it adds to the enjoyment of the event.  For me when I'm trying to get romantic music can go a log way to set the mood.  I'm a bit of a music snob so it has to be "my" music (80s-90s alternative/indie/college radio.)  Here are examples of a couple of my favorites:

It's fine to have music playing in the background and it can be whatever you like, but it should stay in the background and not be over powering.

The William Tell overture (theme from The Lone Ranger) or The Anvil chores .

...complete with sexy, sensual tunes that include mainly R&B, Jazz & Blues. The common theme is that they're all about bodies connecting with each other with words that are poetic, full of innuendo or outright raunchy. Excellent R&B choices include R. Kelly and The Weeknd. The Weeknd brings a fresh new approach to R&B combining sensuality and raunch in his songs.

I almost always host so I have my playlist playing from the moment she steps through the door. I'm distracted if there is no music playing as it surely feels empty without it. When music is in the background of your encounter, there will be no awkward silences.

a musical arrangement for me would be big band, from "In the Mood", throw in some Elvis, and some soft baroque playing bringing up to the finale of https://youtu.be/ao-Sahfy7H

Sometimes vocals can interfere with the big head.

DATY to Mozart may take control of the tongue and can be quite magical.

I love jazz and depending on the type of jazz, it can really create a warm, relaxed and very sensual atmosphere during a long, slow "session".  Lots of vocal ballads (with a trio accompaniment) by Krall, Bennett and Tierney are very nice. Big bands have lots of nice ballads - especially those arranged by Dave Bardune (not sure if I spelled his last name correctly) like "Send in the Clowns", "Here's that Rainy Day", "My Funny Valentine" and others from the Stan Kenton book.  And, You Tube has some very nice, sensual instrumental pieces for saxophone with jazz piano accompaniments. This jazz, low lights, candles and a beautiful provider make for a very special encounter!

I love instrumental New Age-y music.

I love classical even more.  Sadly, I've only had two ladies ever play classical.... :(
