The phone is a cash and carry item, no paperwork to fill out or anything. Don't forget to buy the 20$ pre-paid minute card hanging right by the phones. The best way to keep your account alive to keep adding small amounts of minutes periodicly. The account will automatically close if you don't add new minutes every 90 days. 20 bucks a month usually does it for me to even with all the CityPage line ad calling that I do.
Just bull-shit your way through the on-line regestration, My phone is registered to "Ben Dover", and I used my hushmail address for them to send me my activacation code for the phone. The zip code you use will determine your area code, you can even make an "out-of-state phone" if you'd like, but the city and state you enter needs to match the zip code, or you will get an error message.
Was in Target and saw the Virgin phones cheap.
I know Ben talks about activating these online. So what do I need to get one of these out of the store? Do they just hand you one and you checkout like normal?
That's about how it works...you do have to use it a minumum amount or the cancel your account.

Do you have to buy a seperate charger or does this come with it?
I should get a commission check from Virgin moble for this - LOL!
i agree, why the need? should i be worried about using my own phone??
and what is eom???
There are verious reasons to do this, here's some of mine.
First, let's not forget that this hobby is not LEGAL! There are forces out there that don't have our best intrests in mind. I would NEVER consider using a phone that can be traced back to me, in the event a girl gets arrested, her cell phone has a long list of calls that have been recieved stored in it.
Second, Psyco-providers are out there! Don't fool yourself, many men have been called at home, at work, had their wives contacted, ect. For any number of reasons.
Third, I have found that several girls just have a habbit of calling back the numbers on their phone for calls that they miss, I call ALOT of girls every week, from the CityPages, it is the only way to sort through all the deceptive ads and find hidden treasure, and I recieve several calls back from ladies just wanting to see who called them, And of the calls I've taken, they are usually less than discreate when they ask why I was calling - I realize that a lot of that is due to the "type" of girls I like.....
Fourth, if you have a wife and family that "might" review the phone bills, it's a good idea NOT to have several numbers on there that are for providers or agencies,,, Just in case she's the type that would call them back to see who they are.....
This is a "HIGH RISK HOBBY" on many levels and for many reasons, I've been at it for several years and had several "close calls". I've found that it was usually the "details" that I had pre-emptively addressed that has saved me from each time..... No plan is perfect, and I certainly don't claim to have all the answers, but in my opinion, a $39 phone with an opperating cost of less than $20 a month, is incredibly cheap insurance!
What exactly can LE do if they see your phone
number in someones address book or cell phone?
I don't think they are always looking to take everyone down, but it don't seem like they care much about your privacy when they are investigating a lady...
....to add to all the great points made by Ben, it is also a good idea to activate any prepaid phone from a public library computer so the isp can't be traced back to your computer at home or office. Just remember not to write down your real name in the log in sheet at the library!.......
You can take your own laptop in there and log in through their open network, I have done some "IP experments" from there, I've posted to the board from the free computers they offer and from my laptop, then looked at the IP/DNS record it produces here on this board, and they look exactly the same, so I consider that safely anonomous for these type of things.
