I think it would be great for TER to offer an incentive for follow up reviews. Many times (not always) a hobbyist will review after the first encounter and I think many have experienced the changing dynamic of repeat visits. I know we are always free to write another review, but even a 5-day incentive would probably result in more updates. I also think there should be a way to update the profiles, since they seem to be stuck on whatever the first reviewer indicated, so they are frequently no longer accurate. Anybody else see the value of this idea?
Of a make believe problem. Either write them or don’t. Not passing out Free Candy canes isn’t stopping anyone , they are stopping themselves. TER isn’t holding a gun to anyone’s head stopping them are they?? Simple as that.
Welfare never made anything better, usually in long term the opposite. This isn’t much different, always relying on the system to tell you what you can do for yourself.
Profile update well that could be a different story of benefit.
Totally agree. If you start to "give FREE" memberships or days for just "updating" a review or even submitting a review. You will get more and more fake reviews from people just so they get a membership.
When you make things "free" they are never better. It just lowers the quality.
But I did touch base on this awhile ago in another thread. I would rather not "submit a problem" to just change things such as services, pricing, etc. In MY MIND... submitting a problem is if someone is lying in a review or to "contest" a review... that is what that function is meant for. Well is what people think it means.
But I have been enlightened that the "problem" function is to help change reviews....ie: pricing and what not.
But (for the third "but')..... I think it would be just easier for everyone if the writing the review changed its format a little. Even thought I totally understand it would take reworking the whole site and formatting would be a pain in the butt for TER.

Profiles can easily be corrected by providers once they have claimed the profile . Only need to use “contact us “ at bottom of page or problem report correcting profile items. Can not get scores changed . This is a lot easier then reading reviews, websites, adds to to do a problem report to correct things One problem with this is that many providers have not claimed profile or know how easy it is to correct As for additional days for second review do not feel should be necessary.
What is happening with updates is a flaw or shortcoming in their architecture.
They have a one to one relationship with many of the attributes all managed at the profile level and not consumed from the review level. It would require some sophisticated logic to account for the various reviews and their attributes to summarize them and change at the profile level.
Its up to a manual update from the provider, as mentioned above, to correct the issue. IMO, Their reviews should also show the detailed attributes we enter for each review. For example, someone may enter the initial review and say a girl is a D cup, but in fact she is a C cup... subsequent reviews will all say C but the profile carries a D.
All in all this site rocks and is uber useful for hobbyists.... but after working with it for several years you can see some of the shortcomings and needs for enhancement.
