ok, here is my dilemma.

I don't want to register with a 3rd party "referral" site like RS2k simply because I don't want my personal info kept anywhere permanently - which why I also am moving away from agencies.  But I'm not a frequent enough hobbyist to have an ongoing relationship with a provider - at least not frequent enough that they would remember me - which leads me to my dilemma of getting the 2 references that some of the high quality independent providers want.  (by the way, I'm very appreciative of screening).

Are there any providers here that would bend the rules slightly and screen a client by calling my work place to verify?  I have had agencies do this in the past - "I'm Amy with DH Associates, I'm calling for Joe Smith, could you have him call me?  He already has my phone number.  Thanks" - or something to that effect.

It's not always easy to break into the scene for an infrequent hobbyist!
