Hello everyone...So, I'm pretty new to the hobby and trying to establish some references.  I have posted some reviews here, and also have a ref on DC.  I sent an email to a provider yesterday morning for screening, and haven't heard anything at all back yet.  This is the first "formal" screening I've done and I don't know if I've "failed," or if it takes a while.  I don't want to hassle the provider, so I haven't sent a follow up to see if there is any further info needed or not.  What are people's thoughts?  Thanks!

I would give her a few days to respond.  Sometimes providers are travelling to different cities and I'm sure they can't get to answe emails every day.  Allow her some time to respond and if you don't hear from her by next week then send another out.  If no reply just let it go and inquire about a different provider.

If I don't hear from a provider within 48 hours after initial contact, I move on. No need for follow-up emails.

The time frame you are working with also matters. If you don't have much time, then the 48 hour rule is unlikely to work.

In such a case you could try emailing a generic inquiry to several providers (use bcc if using same email) that interest you and see who responds first. Under no circumstances would I recommend double booking two or more providers at the same time.
