As an avid diver, I have been to many remote locales.  Unfortunately, that usually means no hobbying.

Does anyone have any suggestions for locations where I could enjoy both?  This should be a warm water location outside the US but cannot be much longer than a week trip.

Cozamel, Playa Del Carmen, Cancun, Mexico.

Cozumel is the best place for drift diving and in general one of the best scuba dive places world wide. There are plenty of chicas and you will get royal treatment if you are staying in the Island. I go there twice a year and a few joints you can try where you can actually have full service are Platinos, California, El barco, Green House and la La Pacha. I also have a friend that usually has connections with amateur college age cuties looking to make a quick buck and if there is a way I can email you I can provide the digits.

Sosua, the Dominican Republic....you fly to Puerto Plata, about 10 minutes from Sosua. The diving is NOT great, in fact, pretty average, but the hobbying is GREAT. Been there several times, lots of dive shops. You can fly to POP via Miami, Atlanta, New York.

I wish I would have known about those places in Cozumel a month ago. Maybe next time.

IMO the diving is a 7 on a 10 scale

Haven't dived but I'm told it's very good.  For snorkelling only the Great Barrier Reef in Oz was better.  

Don't know about hobbying on the island, but it's a quick ferry trip to the mainland and the Dominican Republic is well known.

I posted a review of the brothel located one block from the ferry dock in Playa del Carmen.  There's a link for its web site.  It was clean and fun, but I probably paid a lot more than TCButtman does.

Australia is also fun to hobby, but not for a one week trip.

hedo in jamaica. if you stay there scuba is free if you bring your own gear. they will bring you wherever you want to go. it is more for swingers, but they do have a variety of providers there.

Try Belize, Its second only to the great barrier reef eom.

Koh Samui (was there last month), Krabi, take your pick. Warm, clear water and bangin' women. Damn fine combination.

have been to Thailand.  You are right.  It is amazing.

However, that would probably not be the best choice for a 7-day trip, especially if I want to dive as well.

The Philippines..The best scuba and muff diving in the world. However 1 week is too short.

Was there in December.  Amazing.  Search internet for Campo Alegre.  Its an old army barracks with about 100 rooms, each with a chica available for $40 for 30 minutes.  Take out also available - all night for $150.  There's something there for everyone - many are the plump latina types, but there were hardbodies as well.  Dominicans, Columbians, Venezuelans, etc.  There's a barbeque on site, two discos, etc.  It was unlike anywhere I've been.

Diving was fantastic.  Got an advanced cert while I was there.  Easy flights on Delta or American.  I went for 6 nights.

I also did a trip to Thailand, staying in Phuket, and crammed it into a week, but only got three days of diving in.

Philipines are my next intl dive trip with some mongering, but again probably want 8 - 10 days minimum for that.
