I wouldn't feel bad!.. It was her responsibility to watch the clock not yours! You can only hope that with a little mutual respect and Kindness... that these things shouldn't happen??... It just shows you that her interests were the almighty dollar and that you were just a customer and not a client...

I recently arranged and paid $400 for a 90-minute session. In addition to the donation, I gave the lady two gifts (including a $30 gift certificate to a lingerie store). The session went over by about 20 minutes. As I was preparing to leave, the lady asked if the envelope with my donation inlcuded enough to cover a full two hours ($500). I was taken by surprise, as she had not informed me up-front that it would be my responsibility to watch the clock. I did not have another $100 in cash. Feeling uncomfortable, and wanting to get out without a scene, I gave her the $60 I did have in my wallet and figured that the extra $60 in cash plus the $30 gift certificate should have been enough. Well, she was upset.

I believe that hobbyists and providers ought to treat each other with mutual courtesy, respect and kindess. It certainly was not my intention to short the lady.

What would you have done? Was my response unreasonable or unfair?

You brought the $30 gift card as a tip and should not be considered extra payment for service, if the lady is going to charge you by the minute (so to speak) she should be responsible for time control, just my 2 cents!! My most important question, did you have $460 worth of fun??

An interesting perspective on the gift card as a tip. But, one would think that if a hobbyist is considerate enough to bring a gift in addition to the agree-upon donation that the lady would be a little more considerate if a session runs a little long. Regarding your "most important question," to be honest, the way I felt at the end I wish I had stayed home.

For your therory that she would be more considerate that you gave her the gift card, that might only work if she gave a shit !!!! LOL  Move on buddy

Yes. It should be the lady's responsibility to keep on eye on the time and manage the length of the session. It's also the responsibility of the lady to be up-front about her policies at the start of a session.  Thanks for yoru reply.

My guess is she was terribly upset right up to the second you left.  Then is was "Hey I milked another 60 bucks out of the deal".

Sorry sport, I can't support you on this one. We all know the rules before we play. You were disrespectful. Live and learn. Next time watch the clock.
