I spoke to Nina who was visiting from Fl this morning and she told me she decided to cut her trip short and return to Fl today.  She got freaked out because a few people told her the hotel she was staying at (494 and 100 area) has seen several LE bust lately. She then moved downtown but lost interest because she was concerned about LE in general in Minnesota.  I only read this board once every two weeks or so but I went way back and found nothing about any increased level of LE in that area or any where else. So what does anyone really know about this. Its one thing to give good information to help but it’s a completely different thing to just put out rumors or BS. In the wake of it, we lose a great GFE provider. So what does anybody really know about this??

I have not heard of anyone getting "busted" in that area.  Therre are very few providers that use that area.  Most use Airport ot downtown locations.  I know Nina  does NOT answer her emails.  SO maybe she needs to pick up her level of service a bit.

Actually, if you ever have the chance to gab with a traveler before she comes into town, I would indeed have them steer clear of that intersection, actually all of Bloomington in general.  Over the past 2-1/2 years there have only been four traveler busts that I've heard of, and all four did happen right there.

Bloomington is more aggressive than most, and being perhaps the 6th largest LE organization in MN, they have plenty of resources.  So my first thought was "don't stay in Bloomington, go to a smaller suburb like Mendota or St. Louis Park whose LE is tiny by comparison."

However, the trouble seems to center around that one intersection--the Radisson South, Sofitel, and Wyndham--so I suspect that it's nosy hotel employees, not LE, that actually get the investigative ball rolling.  I've heard quite a few providers--both travelers and locals--say that nosy housekeepers or neighboring guests cause far more problems for them than most hobbyists realize.

Interesting, I wonder where Nina heard about this from.
